Final rankings...

GC: CG "Sound System"

2nd RU: Dekalb "Classic Connection"

I heard Fairfield gave an unbelievable two shows. They were first going into finals, followed by Dekalb then CG.

...this is all i know.

does anyone know what MTZ's fall show is?

The Dekalb Sound Sensations recieved all of the captions in their division. Fairfield definitely showed up and showed out at this competition! They were excellent. I saw groups that had good vocals and groups that had clean choreography but Fairfield was the total package. Not to mention the fact that they kept up a very intense level of energy throughout the entire show. Props to them. They were really underestimated for this competition and they were clearly the most prepared. If that's their competition show and they are already that prepare, I can't wait to see them in Danville in Feb! Center Grove's second half of their show was a lot stronger than the first half (beautiful ballad and great tap) and Dekalbs first half was really stong and I felt that they slacked off a little bit after that. I can't wait to see what these groups do in the spring!

1 RU- Fairfield Rhythm Express, Fairfield OH

Best Vocals- North Ridge
Best Choreo- North Ridge
Male Soloist- North Ridge
Female Soloist- North Ridge
Best Show Design- North Ridge

Single-Gender

GC- DeKalb Sound Sensation, DeKalb, IN
1 RU- Center Grove Debtones, Greenwood, IN
2 RU- Mt. Zion Les Femmes, Mt. Zion, IL
3 RU- Anderson Class Act, Anderson, IN

not sure of captions...

After watching all the groups in prelims, I'd have to say that Fairfield is the group to beat. They were by far the most energetic, and the crowd favorite.

I'm not sure of finals we left right after the last group...

What I remember from Mt. Zion's show... their opener was a re-do of 2002's Live Out Loud. The closer was Soul Man. And very uncharacteristically...they did a completely a capella ballad, directed by Gemar.

After prelims I would have placed the groups like this:

1- Fairfield
2- Center Grove
3- DeKalb
4- Mt. Zion
5- Mooresville
*once again those are not nec. the finalists...*

there ya go

There is no way anyone is beating CG Sound System, they were better today, then they were at the end of last year.... they were amazing...

I think it is kinda funny that no one is predicting anderson to be in the top five. i think we will come to perform and we will have an incredible show that will turn heads. We have a show that is fun for us to sing and dance and we will show all of you that we are worth watching. If we dont make finals we will at least get the crowd into us and make them love watching us and our show. So good luck to all and i will see you there.

I think you also have to take into consideration whos judging...Rick Seaver, Pat Weehy, and one other guy (who loves center grove). These judges are wayyyy old school and I have a feeling its gonna be all about who sings best.

Isn't show choir about being a "choir" first and foremost ?

Wow. I think it's cute that nobody is predicting Fairfield over like 3rd?! Kids, i've seen them already this year...many months before now, and they could have competed even then. Don't write my kids off just cuz they're the Ohio group up there with some Indy/Illinois big dogs. I have a feeling the Choraliers are going to be shakin some more things up in Indiana this year ;) ...
