Thank you all for your comments. I know I speak on behalf of the Choraliers when I say they had a great time performing for you!

The songs presented last night were:

"Something Happened on the Way to Heaven" (As recorded by Phil Collins)

"Night on the Town/Heaven/Steppin' Out"

"The Prayer" (Dion/Bocelli)

"Let Me Entertain You" (As recorded by Robbie Williams)

Rutherford Photovisuals from Decatur, IL did the videography.-

GC: Center Grove
1st R/U: Fairfield
2nd R/U: Dekalb Classic Connection
3rd R/U: Mt. Zion Swingstations
4th R/U: Dekalb Sound Sensation (Single-Gender)
5th R/U: Mooresville Spotlighters

Caption Awards based on Daytime Performances
Outstanding Vocals: Fairfield
Outstanding Choregraphy: Dekalb Classic Connection
Outstanding Show Design: Fairfield
Outstanding Female Soloist: Jill Toll -Center Grove
Outstanding Male Soloist: Nathan ??- Mooresville Spot

Something to consider- Fairfield was in first place followed by Dekalb CC with Center Grove third (the word was Center Grove was 20 plus points out of the lead position) going into finals. Myself, the majority of the participants and the spectators were of the opinion Fairfield had retained their number One position after the finals and would be the GC. What happened? Please explain.

Best male soloist, Is nathan wilson

Congratulations to everyone!! I watched all the groups and everyone brought it... but FAIRFIELD>..oh my gosh..in my opinion they should have taken GC last night! that was the most entertained that I was all night!! AMAZING vocals and choreography!!! Everyone in the audience was up on their feet!! I loved it! Their show looked so clean like they were at their last competition and had been working on that show all year! VERY impressive!

Center Grove- I loved the tap... you guys always seem very smooth with it as usual! And your ballad was great too! Congrats on your win though ..you definitely brought it!

DEKALB I LOVE you guys as always! Your presence on stage is always amazing! Choreo is always good and the energy is always there! Vocals as well! Loved the show!

I just gotta say that I loved Fairfield...they were so clean and so solid on both choreo and vocals...and they projected incredibly well in a gym setting like that.

Brownsburg is now your fans! officially!

Yay!! To tell you the truth I don't think we could have done so well without the audience. The rush you guys gave us after every song was absolutely amazing!! You All ROCK!!!

The spead going into finals was 3 POINTS between 3rd and 1st NOT 20. and a 1/2 point between 3rd and 2nd. It was such a close competition! Congrats to everyone who went. I had a blast!

Wow, I love how everyone put us SO low and then after they see us their opinion changes. I'm just so happy to be a singer/dancer for this show because I love this one. All of the groups did Awsome!!!
I LOVED Dekalbs choreography, especially the opener, the solo dancer was on fire!!!

Center Grove, Congrats on your win, You're show was really creative and very fun to watch, Though next time we meet, you better kick it up, cause we sure as heck will!!

Mt. Zion, You're show is just one of a kind, your vocals are unique to yourself aand I love how even though your gender choreography is so different yet with each move another one happens right after the other, It's so much fun to watch. Ya'll better be bringin' your 'A' game to the crystal Classic. Can't wait to see you guys there.

I want to congratulate all the choirs that participated! It was a really great. comp with some strong choirs!

Center Grove- It's crazy how creative and artistic this group is year in and out! The opener was so different and very cool! I loved the ballad and of course you guys sounded awesome! "Were In The Money" was AMAZING! You kids were doing some very hard tap choreography esp. for an entire group to perform cleanly! The vocals in this show were great and you guy's ability to be so artistic is what I think gave you the edge in finals. Congrats!

Fairfield-You guys executed so well last night! I was amazed at how everyone in the group was just "on." The vocals were so great! Vocally this comp. came down to you and CG and both groups have totally different vocals styles and sounds. I really love Randy Sage's choreography and you guys did it really well. I felt that the show however, was typical show choir stuff. While very well done, I didn't find anything new or innovative. I know this is Fall and you guys will def. be better in the Spring so Good Luck.

Dekalb- I went to this comp. with several friends and we all were rooting for you guys to win. I know that sounds crazy but honestly and frankly you guys outperformed every group there and the show was the most entertaining of the night! This group def. WENT OFF! You guys were a great end to finals. Indiana groups def. ned to watch out for you guys. The opener was OFF THE HOOK! I love the slow start which just explodes into the uptempo. The second number was so creative! Great choreography and effective use of props. The ballad was well done and it reminds me of CS 2000! I loved the "System of Survival" closer! It was well executed and it looked slightly different from Spring 2003. I was just SO ENTERTAINED the whole show. In fact, I'm buying the finals DVD mostly b/c of how well you all performed.

Mt. Zion- What I loved about you guys is that you looked like you were enjoying yourselves and I think that's really important. I loved the ballad, it was really good! The choreography was well done, of course! I know that you all will probably be doing much harder stuff in Spring. This looks like a young group who was trying to get some performing experience and it was good to see you guys. I also really liked the closer too.

Again, congrats to all the groups and I look forward to seeing you all in Spring!

mt zion was a huge disappointment for me, when i saw that they were about to do dancing on the celeing i was excited because i did that song at show choir camp(sca) this summer, little did i know that the choreography was going to be the same as sca's too. I can understand groups using ideas from sca, but to use the exact same choreography was a little.................. wrong, especially for mt zion!

Somewhat interesting to note... when scoresheets were used during the prelims, the placings were in the following order- Fairfield, DeKalb, Center Grove, Mt. Zion. When straight ranking (not conversion ranking, where scores become ranks) was used at night, Center Grove became the unanimous favorite of the panel. One more reason the ridiculous idea of ranking should be eliminated!

I couldn't agree more. I think that if you have it, you have it and tonight Fairfield definitely had it and then some! For me it feels like...well you really were the best, but now that I think about it more I'll go with this other group instead. Not to say that CG wasn't good, there were good moments throughout the afternoon in general, but I was waiting all day for someone to hit the stage and really take charge of it in every aspect of performing and the only group that I felt completely did that was Fairfield. They rocked the house! You all gained a new fan! Great things are happening in Ohio!

CONGRATS TO THE NORTH RIDGE REDCOATS! I was so excited for you all! I felt like I was momentarily back in junior high! You're doing really well for so early in the season and you have a great show design as always. I can't wait to see more as the season goes on! Pin or jack, you all definitely have balls (or "those round things" )

Congrats to all of the Southmont finalists. It was a pleasure to sit back and enjoy your shows. I look forward to great things from all of these groups in the spring.

Center Grove deserves many accolades for a fabulous ballad. It really is beautiful, and quite delicately interpreted. It will be wonderful to hear again in the future... definitely a high point of the evening.

Also, DeKalb's opener is the bomb... fantastic choreography that just explodes off the stage! It looks like another great year for Classic Connection. Great job Eryk!

I must say, though, that THE highlight of the night (and the afternoon, as well) was the Fairfield Choraliers. They brought a level of quality and refinement to the stage that was simply unmatched by the other groups. It was a thrill to watch them today, and a shame that they didn't take home the big trophy that many folks felt they deserved.

I also thought it was great to see the Mt. Zion Swingsations throw their hat into the fall contest arena for the first time. They are definitely a young group this year, but they have a ton of energy, and I predict a strong season for them in the spring.

I don't normally comment about things like results, but I thought I'd throw my two cents in here. Overall I was very impressed with everyone for different reasons, and tonight was a great hint as to how much quality we might be able to expect come springtime! Great job to anyone who took the stage tonight, and best wishes for the rest of the season.
