I called today to order the Southmont DVD and she said that production on them finished today. So we should be getting them next week I think (or maybe even later this week).

Wow ... some of those outfits are frickin' sweet.

Dekalb, Anderson, and Fairfield members -- where do you guys get your outfits (dresses mostly). They're awesome.

Turquoise is obviously the color of the year, haha .

Everyone looks so great.

This competition surprised me. All the groups in finals did a great job!

CG: You guys had a very entertaining show. Your opener was very creative and nice vocals going on. I think that you had the best ballad of the night; it was so beautiful, very nice job on that. And you guys went off in your closer. Overall great show very eclectic. And nice vocals overall.

Fairfield: You guys surprised me, I have to admit. You choreography was on point and very clean. Your song selection was nice, as well as your vocals. Overall great show and nice execution.

Dekalb: You guys BLEW me away!!!! After I saw you performance I wanted you guys to win. I loved your opener, how you started of nice and slow and just bam!!! Very nice and rich vocal sound, I was so surprised!!!!! You guys had the best energy of any group their and you keep the audience interested in your show the entire time. Very nice use of all the props as well. You were just gave a flawless performance. Very shocked!!! And you guys did a great job on system of survival that has to be one of my favorite songs that you guys have done in the past. Very nice job Dekalb!!! Very nice job!!!!

Mt. Zion: You guys overall had a great show. Choreography was clean as always, and like it was said before I could tell you were a young group this year, and you guys did a great job. Nice stage presence throughout your performance. You guys seemed into your show and the audience could tell that. Good job

Mooresvile: Way to go guys. First off- GREAT COSTUMES!!!! You guys had the best costumes their. Nice yellow dresses for the girls. You guys seemed to be enjoying yourselves on stage and gave a great finals performance, it was clean and effective. Nice Job.

Overall Great competition!!! For everyone out whose reading this better watch out for these choirs, they are all at a great start and will most likely have a great season. Good Luck to everyone throughout the rest of your season!!

ummmm well all i know is....

GC: CG "Sound System"
1st RU: Fairfield "Choraliers"
2nd RU: Dekalb "Classic Connection"
3rd RU: Mt.Zion "Swingsations"

...i had no idea you were on this site megan, who else from LHS is here? anyone from Sensations? i hear they're a mixed group again. btw,to all who did not got to southmont. i have been in anticipation to see fairfield for a while now, and it is an understatment to say i was not dissapointed. the choraliers were amazing, and i REALLY want to give props to that high soprano with the solo in the ballad(i believe it was the ballad, lol) that note was flawless. it was the perfect mix of standing out yet blending at the same time...kinda like a mini underlying solo i guess, lol. it was wonderful i loved it. and mooresville really surprised me. i have to say i didnt particularly care for your show last year at southmont.however....i loved the ray charles theme "georgia on my mind" is my favorite song. and the soloist did a flawless job. i really really enjoyed your shows and all of the show choirs competing did a great job! good luck to all in the upcoming season!

For the Single-Gender group CG Debtones actually won best chorography. They announced Dekalb but it was wrong. Also Beach Grove got third in Single-Gender group. I just would like to say Congratulations to EVERYONE!! I was amazed by everyones performance!! It was awesome!!! CONGRADULATIONS!!!!

Beech Grove got THIRD RUNNER UP...so they got FOURTH place...Anderson Class Act got 2nd runner up so we got 3rd place...just wanted to clear that up...they counted the points wrong and they fixed it

I can understand your disappointment with the atmosphere but in all attempts to remain tactful, at what other contests are groups who don't make finals acknowledged after the prelims round has taken place? Maybe its b/c there went very many groups at Southmont to begin with, thus the two groups who didn't make finals feel a bit left out. That is disheartening! However, would you hold contests that bring in more groups to the same standards? I for one hoped Anderson would make finals so I could see their show! I wish Anderson all the luck this year!

Yes, at every competition, they present the participation award while the groups are standing up there. They just handed us our trophy after they announced the finalists.

I would just like to express my dissapointment in the southmont competition. I think they could have AT [LEAST acknoledged the two groups in the championship division who didn't make finals. It was pretty much here's you participation trophy now get out of here. Oh yes, that reminds me, there was a short kid with a southmont costume on that told my friend, "Get out of my school Thug!" I sure would not want my school to be represented in this fashion.

"Let Me Entertain You" (As recorded by Robbie Williams)

That's a great song. I know another group that is going to be doing it this season.

Congrats to everyone... but especially to Fairfield... sounds like you guys really kicked it up a notch this year! I hope I get to watch your show on a DVD, I know I probably won't get to see it live.
