oh about the justin timberlake thing. I was sitting pretty close to the front and saw petal during prelims. I think something happened to their keyboard/amp/chord. Right before that song...Kim Kinsey rushed to the keyboardist and was frantically fidgeting with the buttons and plugs. Eventually some sound started to come out, but it was SEVERLY distorted. From what I could make out, it sounded pretty close to the original song.
Albertville was incredible. I too wasn't too impressed with Petal's show, but they we're really good. I loved Homewood's show though. I met some girl from Homewood right after we performed and expressed my desire to be a Homewood groupie. West Jones was phenominal. Period.
oh yeah.. i just another thought on Petal's show.... what was up with the whole Justin Timberlake thing?? wow talk about random.. i laughed everytime because it was just freakin strange. i mean im not downing their show or anything it was just super odd
I agree Albertville should have won there division... but i had the order of grand champion right on. Pascagoula was amazing.. and Petal's show was not interesting to me. They were good don't get me wrong i just don't think personally they should have won first in either catagory.... and Homewood was good.. yall just seemed like yall didn't have it together this time. I did like the song choice this year though, yall have gotten better than last year...i will give ya your props for that
it was a pretty good day...not countin the gallons of water bein poured on us...but ya the finals dance thingy was so much fun...except i forgot how to do the maqurina...all and all im tired...rock on and peace out

West:
Y'all were awesome, and I think it's pretty safe to say that it's the best West Jones has ever been, though I'm going to attribute that to the performers in the group and the choreography this year, and not necessarily the show. The opener was my favorite song in it.

Pascagoula takes home the early surprise award.... I'm very surprised that they beat Albertville and Homewood, so a VERY BIG congrats to them. Heck... I didn't even know they were competing at this comp? They weren't on the original schedule posted earlier in this thread.
Yes i was shocked they didn't make it either... there show was original it was freakin cool to see something different for a change... i guess the judges didn't like it too much
I can't believe the group from Texas didn't come in at all!!! I thought they were very good in a different sort of way.... it's nice to see a little change! I loved the theatrical twist of their show. Good going ya'll, be sure to come back next year......... I know it's a long drive, hope to see you again.
Finals are as follow... West Jones, Pascagoula, Petal, Homewood, Enterprise... Wasn't able to attend finals so I don't have the results.. The middle school division was packed with talent... NE Jones won while Bumpus then Petal came in 2nd and 3rd... West Jones is a sleeper middle school... Watch out for that group
