You know, I consider myself somewhat of a conniseur on show choirs, and I'll be honest, this was the first time I was able to see Clinton live...

But did they leave the competition before the awards were announced? Again, I might just be crazy...probably because if they were there, they just didn't run up to the stage.

I'm sure if you had to lug that 400 pound set piece across the stage in precision you'd be happy to receive that trophy.

Now that we're talking crew/sets,etc... Could any Hurricane members elaborate on what was wrong with your set last night? Seemed they couldn't get it perfect or something.

i believe that clinton got best crew because their crew had the daunting task of rolling their set pieces back and forth and back and forth and do it incredibly precise, accurately, and timely...i believe that the best crew award was given to the right group...now, if there were a 'best time of show' clinton wouldn't have won it lol

Clinton's crew did all that while not even being overly noticeable most of the time.

Maybe the fact that they set up the thing alone allowed them the title of "best stage crew". Just because they went over, doesn't mean it was the crews fault.

Also, many schools give the crew with the most work to do the caption--whether they are on time or not.

To everyone who is accusing the Classic of giving them "special" treatment when it comes to them going WAY over time. Friday night Clinton came to the school to drop off their set, props, and costumes. While there Mr. Fehr and the tech head and Tech leader came together to discuss Clinton's set. Due to the complexity of the set, each pillar weighed close to 500 pounds. Our tech leader ruled that it fell under Safety Regulations and came up with a compromise with Clinton. Their set had a system of counter weights in the basses and would make it impossible to get up the ramp SAFELY! So they were allowed to take apart their set and take out the counterweights and take each tower onto the stage piece by piece without being timed. They were ONLY allowed to do that and were only allowed a SET place on the stage. After their set was in place on the stage, they were THEN timed. However, it IS true that they were penalized ten points for going over their alloted time.

Please do NOT accuse others of wrongdoings when you don't know what the entire situation is!

This is something a Fairfield Alumnus and I were discussing.

So then how did they get best crew if they were given a 10 point penalty?

I totally agree with you. Of all that I have seen from Attache, this was there worst show, BY FAR. I didn't like the song selection at all. The dancing to the guys song was good, but why would you perform that song? (Walk like a man). The falcesto was bad. I didn't like the ballad either. The closer was good, except some of the lights on the backdrop were burned out, which makes me wonder why they got best set.

Compared to last year, I was extrememly dissapointed with attache this year.

Ahem....perhaps a little Musical called 'Jersey Boys' (2006 Tony for best Musical?) about the group The Four Seasons Clinton's entire second half contained classic songs from this musical/group (i.e. Let's Hang On, Sherry, Who Loves You?, Walk Like A Man?)...Frankie Valli - the lead singer, known for his falsetto singing...makes perfect sense to me. Incredible performance by Clinton!

okay. Clinton rocks. Marysvilles vocals were flawless. Findlay was amazing. Hurricane was acrobatically talented. Eisenhower was good. Norwell was awesome.

Clinton was nothing less than i expected =] thanks for an amazing performance.
Marysville... my god can you all sing...
Findlay, your show is FANTASTIC, i was uber-dissapointed in your placement. 2ru i think.
Hurricane threw peoople around and it was pointless... yet awesome! i wish i could do that ...

First I just wanted to say thank you all for coming to the competition and glad that you all enjoyed it. I was really excited about hosting Clinton this year and wanted to thank you for reminding me that show choir is about performing for the audience and doing your best for them and not about just winning. I think a lot of show choirs forget about that. You are also some of the nicest people I have ever met. But basically I just wanted to congratulate all the choirs for making this such a great competition by performing such amazing shows on top of all the work we have put into it. Thank you!!!

I never got to see attache last year, but I did watch their show online. I actually thought this year was a better year for them. Keep in mind...these guys are only in high school. They are not professionals

That's something most people seem to forget the first time they see them. This was my 3rd(and 4th) time seeing them live, but most people seem to expect them to be unworldly. I told everyone I was with if they expected anything other than an amazingly clean show choir they were probably going to be disappointed. They are just high school kids like everyone else there...and I also liked this show better than last years.

They are not professionals, so I don't want to critique them too much. But the falcesto....I really disagree with that. Thats what the "oldies" sounded like. I seriously felt like that was the best example of "good" male singing. I would love to see more guys be able to sing like that. I like to think that it was impressive. He managed to pop in and out of it like it was nothing. Thats what good singing is all about...making it look and sound easy.

I know many people will disagree with what I have to say, but I am prepared for that, so for people that get satisfaction out of bashing everyones opinion, you won't be hurting my feelings. I have been around show choir for a long time and was at the competiton ALL DAY yesterday. I am an no way affiliated with any of the groups, I was simpily a traveling spectator, as many were I'm sure. Anyway, heres what I thought...

Clinton- Amazing opener, until the soloist is done. I have seen almost every Clinton show and this was by far my least favorite. The ballad was the worst ballad of the night. The girls song was barely audible, I thought it was a solo until I saw all the girls mouths moving. The guys song was ok. The closer was ok. The Dream Girls soloist was ok. The Dirty Dancing song was ok, I did love the lift. The costumes were amazing, the set was big, but cluttered and took way too long to set up in prelims. The girls were beautiful and the guys handsome. The choreography was challenging and good. I feel like you totally rode on your name with this one. I am as big a Clinton fan as any person, but I won't just love them because they are Attache, and I also won't make them compete against themselves. The show was just average to me.
