I am very much looking forward to this competition. Should be a good one. All of the choirs are very close in terms of skill and notoriety, so I'm looking forward to competing against some of the best in the country! Looking forward to meeting all of you guys at Nashville!

Mt. Zion and Daniel Hand will be REALLY close, I believe.

Umm, probably no more than seven points difference between 1st and 11th here. Mt. Zion and Daniel Hand are not the only ones who will be "REALLY close" if everyone brings it.

Jeff, the theme is amazing. I heard about it through the grapevine and it just makes me giddy to think about seeing on the stage

PREDICTIONS:

GC: Hastings (BV, BSD, BB)
1RU: Center Grove (BC)
2RU: Glenwood
3RU: Findlay
4RU: Buffalo Grove
5RU: Daniel Hand

Such a close competition. Those are my best predictions based off of what we know from placements and the judges. Mt. Zion and Daniel Hand will be REALLY close, I believe. But I'm putting Daniel Hand above them just based on everything that I've been hearing about them this year.

This year they are doing an amazing show based on a book series (I wont tell ;)) and their vocals and choreography are FLAWLESS. I absolutely love watching them and I've had the pleasure of doing so twice already. The only reason I suspected that they *may* not make finals is NOT because of their skill level (which is top-notch).. but because of their style. I really hope that the judges like them!! Plus, everyone in the group is so friendly and humble and I love them all <3.

Thank you Dom! We love the support you guys always give us!

I haven't seen or heard much about Daniel Hand this year, but I'm guessing they're doing another strong concept/story type show this season? I know the past couple years Daniel Hand has been "out there" (in a good way) with their shows. With that being said, those shows haven't earned very many grand championships at SCN. Just a simple observation not a dig at the past champions or past judging panels.

It's also probably worth reminding that Daniel Hand is the very first mixed choir to perform the night before the main mixed division day. I don't know the statistics of groups that perform the night before, but I imagine it's more of a challenge than an advantage.

Regardless of whether Daniel Hand makes finals or not, I'm sure they'll have an excellent trip and enjoy watching all of these top notch choirs!

I also feel like Mt. Zion Swingsations may replace Daniel Hand... it's just so hard to know because of how insanely different they are stylistically. You couldn't get any different to be honest.

I think if Hastings were to lose/ not sweep this year, Nationals will definitely be the place.

First attempt at predictions:

GC- Hastings (BV)
1RU- Center Grove (BC)
2RU- Findlay
3RU-Glenwood
4RU- Buffalo Grove
5RU- Mt. Zion (BB)

Predictions

GC - Hastings (BV, BC, BB)
1st RU - Glenwood
2nd RU - Petal
3rd RU - Mt. Zion
4th RU - Buffalo Grove
5th RU - Daniel Hand

I was A bit too quick when I gave this prediction a thumbs-up. Unfortuneately, I believe this field will prove to be way too deep for Daniel Hand and the Center Grove H.S. CHOIRS COULD WIN IT ALL!

I doubt that Center Grove will ever miss a finals at any time during the next thousand years.

Just saw Wheation-Warrenville's show, and I will say it was very focused on the vocals. The male soloist was really good and was used like a lead in a broadway musical. Not flashy or reliant on props. I retract my previous comment as it pertains to this group.
