Not a way to find out who they are, unless they post their name.

But what about those critiques that you haven't posted?

On a lighter happier note, I really enjoy Troy's visual elements. I really like their costumes, their blocking and stage pictures, and I do really like their choreography. True they may not sing quite like all the Iowa schools, but as far as a caption on best choreography, I think it went deservingly to Troy. The had the best overall visual package there - variety, intresting color, beautiful clothing, creative choreography, really great blocking/picture changes, and some hot stuff going on there at the end. There was real variety!! (not to mention quality and class.) The had one of the best visual packages last year in my opinion and have another really, really solid one this year as well. Keep up the good work I say!!

were you there?

It really is true.

Washington vs. Jefferson

Jefferson vs. Linn-Mar

Kennedy vs. Xavier, make that the whole damn city vs. Xavier

Plus, you can really add the Iowa Cities in, since they are ever more becoming considered the same area. The Mississippi Valley Conference is one of hated filled rivalries.

Thank God the Waterloo schools are generally worthless. That doesn't include Cedar Falls though.

Eh, Waterloo West for marching band, haha.
But Yeah.. Cedar Falls/Waterloo is worthless.
I hate living here

I guess I'm not really sure why people are bringing my school into this, when I didn't actually mention school names, nor did I directly insult any school. I just stated I saw some things I thought were innapropriate and reminded everyone that all groups should have their moment of attention.

I highly doubt rude comments from Linn-Mar students were heard, as in general Linn-Mar kids pay no attention to other choirs. Only one other person from Linn-Mar (other than myself) visits SCC, and moreover, we are the only two who follow show choir closely. Most of the others in our choir are simply in it for our performance and our performance only, thus I find it hard to believe people from my choir were walking around making offensive comments. However, if indeed something was perceived as offensive, I apologize on behalf Linn-Mar and 10th Street Edition.

The comment on our Dance Captains - I can assure you they would do no such thing. They always place our trophies on the ground in front of them, and I promise you they would not have a bad attitude while onstage in front of hundreds of people. In no way did we think we were guaranteed or should have won Best Choreography, and I can completely assure you we at Linn-Mar send out congratulations to Troy on this caption.

The Cedar Rapids schools in general have such an anamosity twords each other when it comes to anything.
And your throw ALL of them, you're going to get it, more than you're going to get it when there is just two of them together.
this is like rivalry on steroids.

Maybe when they said they are from "West", they meant the West side.

I'm from West, and I have two things to say about this, and the only reason I'm saying them is to say the 2nd one.

1 - they are a prep group. They probably don't know the "unwritten rules of show choir" The moment that they found out who got 1RU was the moment they knew they won what was probably the biggest competition of their young show choir careers. I'm sure they will learn to wait till their name is called to celebrate as they further their high school careers, but these are rookies. If it was an open class group, I would expect much more.... not that it makes it ok from a younger group. If that was the worst display of sportsmanship you ever saw, look no further than you own choir to top it because...

2. One of the Linn-Mar representatives, while standing on stage waiting to hear who won (after they already knew what place they got) actually sat their trophy on the ground and placed their hands on their hips when Troy was announced as Best Choreography, as if to say "are you kidding me?" I heard so many Linn-Mar kids complaining in the halls afterward that it was ridiculous. Not just complaining... loud, profanity-laced complaining. I heard some Jefferson people complaining, and a few from Troy, but nothing compared to Linn-Mar. Talk about poor sportsmanship! So lets all make sure we do a good job from our own group with sportsmanship before we go pointing fingers.

I love how you point out the complaining done by your own school to try and make posters believe it's not someone from Jefferson. Tricky tricky!

CR Jefferson and Linn-Mar are known to absolutely hate each other.

I think it has to do with Linn-Mar owning Jefferson as basketball the past few years.

I can say that I'm nearly 100% sure the post came from Jefferson. (For various reasons)

I had problems with some kids from another school who made night rounds. I went to congratulate a few of them as I was leaving. They didn't get the place they wanted & said some pretty rude things towards me because I happen to be an alum from WHS. I thought it was a weird response to a congratulations but whatever. It's a comp. It's bound to happen.
