QUOTE (tscott @ Feb 18 2009, 06:44 PM) *

Burbank's director Brett Carroll is a Hoosier native, a member of the Decatur Central Goldenaires while in high school, and former director at Mundelein in Illinois. One of his choreographers is Damon Brown, another Hoosier, and April James, a southerner. There is just as much about Burbank's shows that's midwestern as there is Californian.

Agreed... Burbank is one of the more "midwestern" California schools... if not THE "midwestern" school.

I don't know what Indy judges will do about Cali style though, so they might get placed a little lower

I can see Burbank winning, but not taking all the captions.

GC: Burbank
1R: CG
2R: NC
3R: WC

Prediction:

GC: Burbank (I've never seen them in person, but I've seen them on youtube. As well as hearing their reputation)
1RU: North Central
2RU: Center Grove/Warren Central
3RU: Center Grove/Warren Central

I went to Warren Centrals competition. I also know the director of Warren personally. Since warren couldn't compete at their own competition, they couldn't place. However, if they were able, they would have won by 15 points. So I KNOW warren can bring it. They are INCREDIBLE this year!!!

North Central (5 groups total)
Center Grove (4 groups total)
Burbank (2 groups)
Warren Central (4 groups total)

Funny how this is going to be one of the best comps this year, and everyone's predictions look the same... I remember like... ona 2004, or 2005, or fairfield 2006 when the discussion erupted because no one really had any idea who might win...

I'm pretty sure it's going to be

GC: Burbank
1RU: North Central
2RU: CG
3RU: Warren Central

look familiar? lol geez

WOW! what an excellent lineup. Wish I could make it. In my opinion Burbank will be extremely tough to beat. I will definitely be surprised if they come home with anything short of a GC.

how many finalists will LC be taking? i heard only four, but that was when there were only eight choirs registered? it's definitely going to be an amazing competition with so many great groups going, can't wait to see the predictions!

Classic will still be taking three women and 4 mixed finalists

A real heavy weight competition with all these great groups:

North Central (5 groups total)
Center Grove (4 groups total)
Burbank (2 groups)
Warren Central (4 groups total)
Shelby County
Plainfield
New Castle
Roncalli
Lebanon
Heritage Christian

I know there are alot of competitions that day, but if your looking for one with a lot of great talent, I hope you can fit us into your schedule.
