You know what I see ? Alot of different opinions from alot of people from a lot of different states. I think it says we all look at everyone a little different. No I did not see this comp. But I will bet every group there gave it their all.... Sometimes directors do not give the people much to work with or think something they like will look good to everyone and it fails. (hopefully they will fix it) It also shows that maybe there is a difference in judging state to state. I know we all have a right to our own opinions but maybe constructive critisism would sound better than just saying "you suck". I will just say to all, you are what you are and do not let anyone make you feel less. I will make a few comps. this year and I will cheer for all the groups that perform just like everyone else should. GOOD LUCK TO ALL AND HAVE FUN DOING WHAT YOU DO !!!!! (P.S. CONGRATS TO MT.ZION)

2 groups highly forgot about......Fort atkinson, very impressive.....also, Mitchell has improved so much....i would have loved to have seen mitchell and fort switch places with FC and Buffalo grove.

Hey well, thanks a lot for that! We were so excited to come this year, AND PUMPED! When our director told us we got 11th we were shocked.. We were also excited to move up 12 places from last year, that's a HUGE leap, and at onalaska that's a hard thing to do, but we practiced our little hearts out for this comp. Hope some of you got to watch us. In other notes I just want to tell TOTINO I was supporting you all the way! When they said you were in finals I stood up and screamed!! and I was the only person around me doing it, but I didn't care! I just have too much fun with your show. anyways I have nothing else to say now... " border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> All in all the competition was very hard, and I had a great time there. Can't wait for next year already. ;)

PS. I HOPED TO NOT AFFEND ANY GROUPS BUT I HAVE TO REASON TO BE BIAS ABOUT ANYTHING BECUASE I GRADUATED LAST YEAR AND IM JUST TELLING THE THUTH AND HOW I SAW IT. OVERALL I AM NOT IMPRESSED WITH THE SHOWS OF THIS YEAR AND AM SAD TO SEE THE DIRECTION show choir TOOK THIS YEAR. CONGRATS TO ALL GROUPS FOR DOING YOU BEST AND FOR ALL THE FINALS GROUPS WHO TRULY STEPPED IT UP FOR THE FINALS. EACH AND EVERY GROUP DID HAVE A SPECIAL MOMENT BUT FOR THE RESULTS THEY WERE ALMOST RIGHT. CONGRATS AGAIN AND GOOD LUCK FOR THE NEW YEAR

How can you say that you're disappointed with the direction that show choir took this year when you have only seen those 26 varsity groups? Not everybody goes to Onalaska, and it seems like some of the more "original" show choirs don't go there, like Hastings and ourselves. We went to a clinic at Viterbo College 6 miles away from Onalaska yesterday, and both clinicians really liked the ideas of our show. I can't make any guarantees about how it will be executed next week at Milton, but the concept is really interesting without being very hard to understand like it was last year. I also think that this was by far the most that our costuming added to the show since my freshman year.

Lol, the group who placed first going into finals shouldnt have made finals... right... What was Buffalo Grove's show?

I have no idea how they were in first after day round. I didn't care all that much for them, except I LOVED the guys' closer costumes...however, the girls didn't go with them at all... " border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

I think a couple things hurt Teays Valley. First thing, is their 1st sopranos. It was like ya'll were shrieking, and when I go to a SC Competition I want to hear singing not massive vibratoy shrieking women. Second, why the hell is your band on stage? It was cool at first, but VERY distracting having the director up there as well. He was contasntly looking over his shoulder at the singer/dancers and having somebody flail their arms around while a group is performing is very distracting. I mean, when the band is behind the group you catch glimpses of the director's arms and what not, but the entire time I could see the director and his arms and it was just very, very distracting for me.

Anyways, thats what I think hurt Teays valley. Anyone else agree? Disagree?...

I agree...

One of Teays trumpets got hit by a flaling arm and it screwed her up.

yah is it just me, or is this year the "bad costume year"? it seems like either the costumes dont match; dont look good on anyone; have pet toys hanging off them; or just look weird; or in momentums case, all of the above!!!!

First off I agree with alot of the comments people have already made...

FORT- One word... WEIRD! It was like Mardi Gra meets Africa... just because you have drums... doesn't mean you have vocals.

CRETE- I wish you would have made finals! You should have been higher than 14th... more like 9th.

URBANDALE- Besides the first song... I think I really like your show. Awesome vocals... great last 2 songs. You should have made finals.

MILTON- Show was tons better than last years.

WACONIA- I believe the only thing that got you 13th was "Reached For The Gun"... That was the only thing cool.

LINN MAR- I am in shock you got 22nd... and feel you didn't deserve that. I didn't like your show much... but you don't deserve 22nd place... more like... 13th. You were better than Waconia.

MT. ZION- You won. Congrats... I did not like the vocals... but you have till April 1st till I see you again. Your choreography was awesome! Please work on the vocals so I can love you again!

GCS- Liked the show... everything was great! Vocals lacked a little... but besides that... You were awesome. The ballad got me a little misty eyed... but i think it can deliever more punch! I am so proud of you... and so was the GCS mom sitting next to me! I will see you at Milton, you will be GC's there!

TOTINO- I think I have come to the conclusion that you should have won. You performed awesome in the day round! It was flawless... but I did not see finals so I do not know. I loved everything... except the ballad... it was boring. (Ballad is Sunday... also Davenport North's ballad for 2004) Totino... you win a place in my heart again... Your band is awesome!

BUFFALO GROVE- You should not have made finals... Urbie should... Your show was boring.

FRANKLIN CENTRAL- Love the cookies!

Buffalo Grove's show was very unoriginal, too classy for me. As for Ft. Atkinson, the girls on top of the drums looked scared sh*tless during the whole drum song.

Also, is it just me, or does a lot of show choirs costumes clash this year? I mean on GCS's closer, half of the girls had on purple dresses and half had on pink, as for the guys, they wore these army greenish shirts with a tie.

GCS won onalaska 6 out of the past 7 years.....they won the first three years, 1st runner up in 2000 then won the next three years again and then recieved 1st runner up this year

OMG, this comp sounds like it was CRAZY ohmy.gif Congrats to MTZ for winning GC. You know what kids, congrats to everybody b/c Onalaska was a hard as hell. I feel bad for Teays Valley, who I happen to think are good, cuz not only did they not make finals but then I've read some really shady reviews of their show. Some people were really over zealous in their critiques. I know that they will still do well this year. Would anyone happen to know Teays competition schedule. So what were people's shows at Onalaska. The only one's I've seen posted on the boards are MTZ's and EEE's. I have already seen the TV show and the FC show. So everybody keep working hard and good luck the rest of the season.

EEE- what a killer show! YA'LL DID DESERVE BEST VOCALS AND DONT LET ANYONE TELL U OTHERWISE CASUE THEY ARE WRONG! the choreo was great. personally i think u could have had scott do the closer and done great with it too. but the closer was great! great job to all the soloists!!! you all are in my top 5 choirs!!!
