I totally understand which you mean, and agree its a good possibility order will be a determining factor. I'm most excited for this competition because I think Cedar Rapids Kennedy, Cedar Rapids Washington, Iowa City West, Iowa City High, Linn-Mar, and Sauk Prairie (In no specific order) all have very good shows this year (or so I've heard), and all have a chance of placing extremely well, and I think placing will be very close point wise. I am going to base my DAY predictions based off of how groups have preformed at earlier competitions or shows.
GC: CR Kennedy
1RU: Linn-Mar
2RU: CR Washington
3RU: Iowa City High
4RU: Iowa City West
5RU: Sauk Prairie
I think its a strong possibility that the IC school could swap places, along with Linn-Mar and Washington, just depending on how each groups performance goes during the day, and I believe final placement will be strongly affected by the order of the groups, so I won't say anything about those, yet.
Yeah this competition always has so much energy throughout the day! Its the excitement of the Adler! haha It's super hard to make predictions because all these groups are having such a good year! It'll be tough for the judges that's for sure haha

Yeah I could very well see it going this way too! I just said it was biased as a joke because we know each other and there's always little friendly competition between IC High and IC West haha

Great River is just magical. I feel that many of the groups come to this competition because somehow they give some of their best performances of their entire season on the Adler stage. Groups like- Cedar Rapids Kennedy, Cedar Rapids Washington, Sauk Prairie, Iowa City High, and Iowa City West just always pack amazing shows here. I can't wait to see it unfold!

Agreed. I know Washington always has their best performance here (with the exception of last year it was at Kennedy). I have gotten to see all of the groups except Davenport North live, and they were all very early in the season, so it will be very exciting for me to see how each group has improved over the month leading up to Great River! It's gonna be a battle till the end.

So my day round predictions:
GC: Cedar Rapids Kennedy
1RU: Cedar Rapids Washington
2RU: Linn-Mar
3RU: Sauk Prairie
4RU: Iowa City West
5RU: Iowa City High
BV, BC: Kennedy
BB: Sauk Prairie or CR Washington
I could see Iowa City West placing higher than Sauk Prairie in day round, but since I feel a big 08 vibe, I think it will go this way. Then probably Iowa City West and CR Washington will switch in finals (just like 08 lol). This is so random but whatever.
Great River is one of my fav competitions, though one thing I have never liked and still don't is the "home room" or home squares they have, especially when it's on the far side of the area lol. I don't like how it's all out in the open, I like mine in rooms But regardless, a great competition.
Agreed. That's why we always get hotel rooms across the street. Privacy and beds to nap on! I loved having my stuff in a nice private hotel room. And we always got to have a nice vocal warm-up in the lobby. Very nice.
I like to watch groups in the balcony. And yes it was 07 the judges moved to the balcony. I think the vocal sound one gets in the balcony is far superior to the sound down below.
