Well I've seen Totino, Kennedy, and Sioux City East live this year, and have seen LC on the fairfield stream, and Hastings on youtube. I think that your lack of knowledge on western Mid-West choirs will shock you once results come in. I think you GREATLY underestimate the visual aspects of the other groups.

Here's a fun tidbit for you Mr.HJA. Totino swept Mitchell at a competition this year. Not even one judge had Totino in 2nd. Mitchell just beat CG at FAME Orlando and swept. So I think that Fairfield wasn't really as crazy amazing as everyone had it predicted to be. I think there are a ton of other choirs who can compete with the choirs that were at Fairfield, and in my opinion the choirs at Fairfield were a bit of a letdown (with the exception of Clinton and JB). Just because you are from Indiana doesn't mean crap.

Here's another one for you. CR Jefferson went to North Central's competition and beat LJ. Who just beat LC. SC East and Kennedy are on the same level as CRJ, so I think this is going to be much more competitive and mixed up than you believe.

And one last thing. HN has two GC's later in the competition season. And you cannot say that Carroll and Lafayette Jefferson are also weak choirs. I don't think you can discount results later in the season just because at their first competition HN didn't place as well as they are now. Obviously groups improve as the competition season goes on. ESPECIALLY when groups like Huntington North begin learning their show much later than other groups. It's impossible to have your choreography at 100% a month after learning the show.

Now I'm probably gonna pull a Benton here, but I think you are giving LC WAY too much credit, and not learning anything about the other choirs before you talk crap about them. You obviously know nothing about Hastings, Totino, Kennedy, or Sioux City East. When was the last time you saw any of their shows? LC should talk a little less S*** and work a little harder and then they can brag and boast all they want AFTER they win the competition.

Im nopt sure if your being funny or serious but i am big on vocals but i am a dancer so i may choreograph or help design shows but i am studying psychology to start my own non for profit and i will also coach track and field but will continue to help with show choir and be involved. its addictive lol

So your expertise is in psychology (non for profit, whatever that phrase means)? Or is it dancing? Maybe track and field? Vocals?

I am sure of one thing: your expertise is definitely not related to being grammatically correct.

One thing I am unsure of is how this post is helping your argument as far as how you are at all accredited in the ways of judging show choir. Also, your long "rant-ish" post earlier was ridiculous and proved nothing at all except further your ridiculous mindset regarding show choir. I really hope you realize soon how inappropriately critical you are being about show choir considering your obvious lack of learned or inherent knowledge on the subject. Good luck to you in whichever of your endeavors you choose to pursue more seriously!

Julio - I fricking love you! Enough said!

The Cup - GO HASTINGS AND TG!! YOU KNOW I LOVE YOU GUYS!!

LC does not talk **** actually if you had ever been to the CS Classic you'd know how they are. Also, I watch groups and know results. I am not underestimating any other choirs, seeing how i ddn talk bout any other choir. I am an ALUMN i was speaking on the 3 yrs I was in and the 4 yrs i watched before i got in and how they (cs) is never counted in as doing well.
I clearly have already said how good HN vocals are and how awesome Totino's choreo is never once did I talk **** ahahah I always look at choirs on youtube (if there are videos) and look not only at the current year, but years past to get an idea of the choir before i say anything about them, thanks. And you will also be hard pressed to find current members on here talking ****.
The problem is too many of you idiots are taking what one individual said on the MTV video (which was a response to a question the interviewer asked and running away with it) Those kids have worked harder than any other year of CS'rs have and deserve some credit. (just as other choirs do and get)
I did not say they'd win this competition or last weeks comp or the comp at fairfield easily and was really just hoping that they would. I do NOT thing LF is a weak choir nor HN. and whether its later or early in a season it is is still relevant due to the fact that HN only 10 pts ahead and yet there supposedly so much better now (according to you). HN will sing very well, LC will sing very well. ( i personally don;t care for TG vocals) but they sound good and are SO clean and have good choreo. I saw that TG beat Mitchell and it was EXPECTED that they would do so...and if you did your research u kno that Mitchell and CG were tied and winner went to rankings so really its opinion. I do not think that Fairfield was a bust (ppl still talking about it).
You are right there are a bunch of other choirs that can compete ie NC, FC, Petal, Burbank, WV, Mt. ZIon etc but they werent there. Of the groups that were their the competition was very tough. So as far as my lack of knowledge ur false and should really check your facts again. I have watched show choirs from all over this country for years and know alot about many of them. Yes i may be biased towards LC but when they don't do well i acknowledge it. Like i was surprised they were 3'd visually b/c i think they could get that together. Also. Hn first gc this yr was against whom?? no one they were the only group in that tier so duh they were gonna win. so like i said that win is irrelevant. The one at homestead so much more relevant Carroll, amazing yr this yr. i haven seen LF but i know that an assistant to their program was shocked that they beat LC and i know that they have been good in the past and are very entertaining.
as i said before lc will get top three based off of judges and their revamped show and their thirst (not that the other choirs are not working hard) i just have faith that their hard work sacrifice will be worth it. but really all they need to do is have their BPS (best possible show) like they have had at every competition and although they won't be completely satisfied they will be happy. GOOD LUCK TO ALL GROUPS COMPETING HERE IT WILL BE A GREAT COMP.....WISH IT WAS LIVE STREAMED.

p.s. sorry for this long rant-ish thing but some ppl really are idiots and know nothing of others competence. I am really exciting for this comp omfg totino is great love them and i hope Hn and LC and other groups will give them a run for their money!! and with sc season shaping up the way it has who knows what will happen???????

I'm sorry I just don't see HN that low. They won last weekend and Lawrence Central got 4th. HN should sing just as well, if not better, than most of the choirs here. And we all know that Indiana is a big visual state, so their choreo should be on par with everyone else. They should be battling for that 1RU spot.

GC: Totino
1RU: HN
2RU: Hastings
3RU: Kennedy
4RU: Lawrence Central
5RU: Sioux City East

One thing to be noted is this is going to be a FABULOUS vocal competition. Each of these groups has won best vocals over some VERY good groups. This is gonna be so much fun!

I agree totally

GC: TG (Sweep)
1RU: Huntington/Hastings (Haven't seen Huntington... but just judging by their record they have a chance of doing well
2RU: Hastings/ Huntington
3,4,5 RU: Kennedy/Lawrence/East/

LC did get fourth and it was (i believe close atleast in prelims it was so i cant expect that it was not close btwn the top four in finals) However, at CG LC won by 20 pts over fairfield who was second and hn who was third. HN and LC always tend to go back and fourth with each other so they will be pretty close in placings at this comp top three (in no order shoudl be (LC, HN, and TG) with either HN or LC getting BV i can definitely see TG winning choreo because they are so good omgf!! and vocally it will be awesome so very excited about this!! wish it was streamed live though ugh!!!

Travis, I think you're underestimating your own alumnus this year, to be honest. Or maybe I just really like their show, I don't know. And semidemiquavers sounds really cool, even if you just made it up.
Anyway...

GC: TG (Sweep, they are just really good)
1RU: Lawrence Central
2RU: CR Kennedy
3RU: Hastings
4RU: Huntington North
5RU: SC East

I have this sneaking suspicion, however, that Jackson Prep or one of the choirs on this list we've never heard of before may challenge SC East and/or HN for their finals spot. Will I be wrong? Probably. I can see 1RU-3RU going pretty much any way, as well.

Jackson Prep has done a fairly good job for themselves in their class in the south. I'm still trying to figure out how to say Semidemiquaver .

I think kennedy has a very split show this year. It is a little more out of the box then normal. They do their show very well, I just can see them placing lower then I'd hope, but rooting for Iowa show choir

Gus,

I always underestimate my choir. I could see them as high as 1RU, but I truly believe that 3RU is pretty much even...lol...Two and a Half Men.

Semidemiquaver is a 32nd note.

Totino versus Lawrence Central is like comparing apples with semidemiquavers...It can't really be done. Lawrence Central may take vocals away from Totino, that is a stretch, but a true possibility. However, TG's show design and showmanship is simply unrivaled this year. I think it will go like this:

GC- Totino Grace (BC, BV, BB)
1RU- Lawrence Central/Huntington North
2RU- (See above)
3RU- Hastings Riverside Company
4RU- CR Kennedy Happiness Inc
5RU- SC East Headliners

Remember what you said last time about a choirs vocals... ;) just sayin.

I expect a sweep by Totino, but I expect a very tight battle between all the groups, I know i would hate to be a judge! 2 weeks!

Well ima big vocals guy and have talked and commented on vocals alot. I just recently commented on CG losing to Mitchell vocally and how i just don't understand it. an i think all who watched fairfield would agree that CS sings very well I know of 3 people (other than myself) who were in 3 other un affliated/competing choirs and had CS vocally 3'd behind clinton and cg but hey things happen. With the way this season has been shaping up who knows. (huntington north must have put on a really good finals show because they were behind after prelims and like i said previously in the holmstead forum it was a 9pt diff seperating the top four). good luck to all choirs im biased towards CS ut i won't be too upset if HN won because they are from indiana
