My mom is a director and she said that there will no longer be evening finals at State Finals. There will just be the day show. I don't like it that way, but I have no say in the matter.
Sorry, maybe i'm just not reading correctly, or I just need the clarification, but does this mean that there will be no finals at state, just awards? or is there something else going on here?
sorry, i know i posted it, but i am unsure of what it means either

there are 9 in each class (mixed A, mixed B, womens A, womens B)
and yes, B is still at plainfield
quote from issma.net "The State Show Choir Finals will once again have a Small School/Large School classification system with a Women’s and Mixed Division for each classification. Nine choirs will be chosen as performers for each category. The elimination of a “Final Three” evening performance will now allow for an open draw for all performers."

He obviously meant 4th was well behind LC. And you also said NOTHING about doing worse when you hosted. You said "LC has never placed well at state" not lc has never placed well at state when hosting.
So why don't you just calm down and actually read the posts on here instead of getting all offended and PMSy and stuff.
I actually meant it both ways. Those years ('05, '07) CS was a solid 3rd place. Not really close to 4th but not making a dent in vying for the top 2 spots either.

We did place third those years when the contest was held at Clowes Hall on the campus of Butler University and at Emens Auditorium on the campus of Ball State University. In those years< from a points standpoint, CS was third BY ALOT! Particularly in 2007, my second year on staff.

well judging off results this year you can expect Carroll, Bishop Luers (If they want), Franklin Central, Lawrence Central, North Central (although they got disqualified at BD they can still qualify off of FC's contest), Ben Davis, and Pike can all be expected to qualify...
In the two years LC has hosted and competed we placed 8th and 7th. So, needless to say, were certainly not missing competing at ISSMA State. However, were happy to host and make the venue as great as possible.
I always liked hosting better anyways.... much more fun!
Didn't LC place 3rd in 2005 and 2007? Thats doing pretty well in my book...

I;m not saying they got places they didn't deserve but I guess I find it odd that they the host school competes. Even when Poca hosts WVMEA it's at a neutral site.
Haha, I assume you are referring to Carmel From what I know, they too will not be competing at ISSMA State. The reason a school hosted ISSMA was because it was becoming increasingly expensive for ISSMA to find a venue large enough to hold the contest. So the neutrality of it being at LC this year should sort of help with the results (although LC has never placed well at State).
The CS and SS kids have picked groups to host and they are excited to see everyone.

I always thought it was odd that the "host school" was a competitor. I like the fact that ISSMA is at a neutral site. I don't like the fact another top Indiana school won't be competing at the state competition.
If anything it always felt like LC was somewhat penalized for being the host school.
Probably a natural reaction by ISSMA to go overboard the other direction to not have any signs of inappropriateness.
