I figured scores in finals would be really tight. Totino's finals performance was phenomenal. I honestly thought they were going to win choreography.

Oh and Adam Peters, we missed you too. That's why you can't back out of Omaha.

Scores at night were tight...

Vocals were separated between Totino and GCS by 6 points
Choreography was separated by 1 point

That's really all I know, I haven't seen much of the score sheet.

Great Great Great Job to Everyone!!!

This was so tough that it was so hard to watch!!

But here are some of my notes,

GCS- Great Job guys!! You have really kicked it up from Monona Grove (the last time I saw you) Great Job!!

Bloomington Kennedy- I am so mad that I didn’t get to see you...again! Arggg...good thing I am buying a DVD of finals. But great Job anyways!

East Side Swingers-Very Very clean and you have very good soloists great job!

Divaz-You guys are just as clean and you also have very good soloists!

R in R- Great job, this was my first time seeing you group and I was impressed. I think that if you work a little bit harder on Vocals you would be set! Great Job!

Papillion- Great job guys!! That was the first time I have every heard a Hillary Duff opener! Nice work with that, also the Stacy's Mom song was great! Fun show to watch, very entertaining.

Bemidji Girls (Prep)- WOW WOW WOW! To be honest I was expecting you guys to win! Five sets of costumes and four costume changes and it all worked! AMAZING!! You guys were also so clean! I like how your coreo wasn’t so easy, it was harder and it was so sickly clean. More clean than I have seen some AA groups this season WAY TO GO! (Oh I also love the flames at the end!)

Pleasant Hill (Prep)- I love the extra set of risers and the backgrounds! I have never seen a group that sets their prep up with such a great stage! I wish that all groups would do that. Help out there preps! LOL...your girls dancing was very clean but at spots vocals didn’t come through as I think you wanted them. Also make sure you make that stage set up faster. It took a long time and it seemed very un-professional. Just my thoughts of coarse...but other than that for the first time seeing your group awesome job!

La Crosse Central Connection- Great job guys! I have never seen a group start with the guys and girls numbers good thought! Also great job with only having 6 men! You guys worked hard on that balance! Great job!

Totino (Prep)- Beautiful Costumes! I loved the dresses! I thought your guys' group looked very professional. I always think your top group looks like they are 25, and you guys looked like you were 20. I can’t get over how you do that! Your guy’s hands were very clean. More cleaner than a lot of prep groups I saw @ Hastings. Now here are just a few thoughts-works on balance. I realize you have a million girls to one guy but still really work at that. Also don’t figit on stage, there were a few people who were during the ballad and it was distracting. Also try to get a costume change in there. By the looks of the costumes it looked like they weren’t cheap and I understand only one set of costumes because of it, but maybe the guys could take their coats off or something? Just a thought...but otherwise great job!

Eau Claire Eagle- Good Job! You guys had awesome blend and balance. I love your ballad!! Also the guy’s number was very cute! I think you really need to work on making sure all of your hands are the same. It was hard to tell what they were supposed to be...also work on blocking. It looked like there were people missing but just because they are missing doesn’t mean that you couldn’t move down a window to make it look right again! But besides that great job and I can’t wait to see your improvements down the road!

Good Job Everyone this was a truly tough tough tough comp that was a blast to watch!

WOW! This was one amazing competition! I was able to see a couple of the groups in finals and all I could say was wow.

GCS- If God had a choir, it would be you. The lifts in your opener were very cool. Your connection to your ballad was something that you rarely see in a group. Your singing was so amazing and I would just like to congratulate you on your win.

Papillion- Your show is so much fun! I really liked your ballad (and the soloist was awesome too). It really says a lot for the competition when a group as good as you guys gets sixth in finals. Keep up the good work and good luck with the rest of the year.

Hastings- Thank you for hosting such a fun competition! This was my first competition as a freshman and so I feel a little bit of a connection to this competition. Your show is so much fun and I think if you fix a few minor things you will do great when you come to Spectacular. ;) Good luck with the rest of your year!

I sadly was not able to see Eau Claire, Kennedy or Bemidji because we had to get ready for our performance in finals. I've seen all of your shows before and you all have very strong and entertaining shows.

Well! That was an extremely fun competiton. To Totino- you all improved SO much from Milton, it's so awesome congrats on that! Your show was just fantastic at night, and scores were VERY tight.

I must say to my GCS kids that go on here, the ballad at night made me cry, all that emotion you sing with is simply amazing! Congratulations on your grand championship.

For anyone who's interested, here are Class A Results

Jefferson Jive rocked the morning. I'm glad they didn't have to cancel because of the pops concert! Good job!

Also- I heard for finals they went with straight scoring... If anyone had the scores to post I'd appreciate it!

I LOVE HASTINGS, GCS, AND THE DOLL!!
Hastings-you don't need to hear anything about the comp. from me because its awesome. I thought I’d let you know that your ballad has captured every audience I have been (to watch). Every person can find a connection to that song, and your choir does an excellent job conveying those feelings. Your ballad is my favorite I have heard this year. Way to own the stage.

GCS-I was the loud one in front with the fedora on. You once again proved to be amazing. Totino and GCS are somehow interrelated and we (Company) love that connection with your group. I’ll be glad to support you at any competition I can go to.

Papillion- awesome job! Your show made me happy.

Eau Claire- you had an awesome performance again. I still can’t believe how much your show has improved!! Really well done

Every group in finals deserved to be there, but there were also groups that could have made finals that did not. This was not the “swinging on the river”, but truly became the Hastings 2007 “Clash of the Titans” which many people described. Every group I saw was phenomenal. Yay everyone!

-Tom

Congrats to GCS and Totino!

It was great hearing that a competition didn't have a messed up day round or finals.

I truly missed my GCS friends today though.

This is the only picture I have of the huge dance party, but it doesn't quite do justice without blacklight or strobelight. Hopefully someone has a video of that?

I have a few pictures from the dance party as well.
will try to have those up tomorrow

Wow what a fun competition. I'm at our hotel right now in Hastings and I couldn't resist the urge to come on here and say how wonderful a day/night it was. I had so much fun with our hosts (you guys are awesome). I loved the 50 person dance party in our room. So many people from different schools were in there and it was just amazing. Everyone did a great job and I was impressed with the integrity and class of every group that was there today. A special thanks to Totino for being so supportive of us. We're sister show choirs so it's important that we stick together. I loved your show and I truely though you guys put on a performance worthy of beating ours. Thank you to everyone who made this wonderful day possible and I know that my choir and I couldn't have wanted something more than we wanted this tonight.

So, I never really post on this site anymore, since I'm no longer in show choir and can't usually get to competitions...but since I'm back living in Hastings now, I actually made it to this one! And it was awesome.

Congrats, GCS I saw a lot of great groups today, but I think you definitely deserved your win! I loved your show - the ballad in particular was amazing!

I was in the auditorium most of the day, so I didn't get to meet too many people, but at lunch I was sitting at a table by myself and a bunch of Totino guys needed a place to sit, so they came and sat at my table. Not sure if any of them are on this site, but if they are - thanks! It was fun eating lunch with you and so much better than sitting alone Totino is one of my favorite groups, I always love your shows and everyone I've met from Totino is so nice. Great job today and congrats on 1st runner up and best band!

This was the favorite competition I've been to, and I didn't even compete. GCS, you guys are too great. As performers, as dance-party maniacs, and as overall great people, you made this competition so much fun. The cups are great, I put mine in my room, and the brownies were good too. I've already said just about everything I have to say to each of you, but let me just say thank you GCS!

Oh... And, I think someone in GCS grabbed my Swingin on the River t-shirt as you left (I changed in your room). So if you find an extra M baseball T...

Also GCS - Did anyone leave a 4 foot long overstuffed pillow?
