I wonder why this is...

Who knows? Perhaps it's a loyalty factor. Clinton seems to have frequented the same competitions over the past few years (for example, they've gone to Homewood 11 times and Petal 7 times since 2000--Sullivan 5 times and Los Al 3 times is also very frequent for out-of-region travel).

If I was a show choir director (not yet), I would want to visit places that I've had good experiences at previously (good hosts, fair judging/scoring, venue, transportation ease). Maybe those all have a factor.

The results over the past two days are more surprising than the upsets in NCAA tournament.

No California competitions have finals.

Yeah. This I know. Just mentioned Los Al, since that's the only place Clinton ever goes in Cali.

*and interesting (as every time at Los Al), it's a one-and-done. No finals for any of the groups to seal the deal or jump ahead.

For this contest, does the auditorium empty out between each division? how early should I arrive to get a seat if I already have a ticket?

They do regularly empty out the auditorium, yes. I don't think you need to be there more than 30 minutes before a division unless you're trying to get into Tier I Mixed. Then you might want to camp out overnight.

Yay...Jorge is coming! I think Los Al should give a Caption award to anyone in attendance with over 10,000 posts on showchoir.com....

ha I'd rather win Best Vocals on my own merit.

Currently working in the camera room.

They tried to setup a livestream but they couldn't get a proper connection to the internet because the district limits bandwidth usage to a normal users.

See y'all out in Cali... My second Los Al.

2012 was great... me thinks this year will top that one!

Predictions:
GC: Clinton (music)
1RU: Burbank (show)
2RU: John Burroughs

I loved Clinton's show when I saw it live at Petal. And I loved Burbank's show when I saw it via live feed at WWS. I didn't really get JB's show this year (though, that was earlier in the season). So I really think it's between Clinton and Burbank. As for captions, what I've predicted could be a shocking outcome, but this entire year has been shocking. I think this is one of Clinton's better vocal years (I'd say since 2010). And I think Burbank's design is genius--though Clinton's is fab too (and their choreography is as usual--flawless).

*and interesting (as every time at Los Al), it's a one-and-done. No finals for any of the groups to seal the deal or jump ahead. Not that any of them really need it...
