Oh wow! Those are some major losses. Sad to see them in this state/size from what they used to be. They were always a wildcard in Tier I and an anchor of Central IL show choir.
Unfortunately, the video feed for tonight will be down as we try to troubleshoot poor video & audio quality issues. We are working hard to resolve these issues, they should be resolved by tomorrow morning.
After a frustrating night of troubleshooting, sadly there will not be a live stream on Saturday. Here are a few of the things that have led us to this decision.
-Stage lighting can be tricky, especially in a gym. But even after several attempts to adjust and focus the camera, we are still having too many issues with “ghosting” and poor video quality.
-In the short time that our live stream was active on Friday, YouTube flagged our video for 16 different copyright violations. Several sections of the video were also muted. The video has since been deleted to prevent any further issues.
From all of us here at the Manteno Show Choir Program, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause.
RE: the livestream. Thank you for your efforts. I livestream many events for my school (sadly no SC). I use fairly expensive remote-controlled PTZ cameras which absolutely can't handle extreme stage lighting. When that's the case I have to switch back to traditional cameras (and I can appreciate the logistics that brings up). As for YouTube, I wonder how all the other livestreams handle this. Perhaps the flags are (mostly?) from any music played by the DJs between sets? I'm watching Carroll Classic and the stream immediately cut to canned cheesy music between competitors. Good Luck! Wish our team was there! Hopefully you're able to piece things together for your own closed-circuit needs....
Hoopeston "New Connections" will no longer be attending, however Wheaton North High School "Flight" is now attending and will be competing in the Open Division. The schedule posted below has been updated with the new performance times.
