For those who might be wondering who Melanie Walters is... she is a choreographer and actress out of Nebraska. Thank God for GOOGLE.

Yes, she is. She choreographs Papillion-La Vista South, Millard West, Ralston, Bellevue East, Bellevue West, Kearney, and Platteview as far as varsity show choirs go... There may be others, that's off the top of my head. Hope that helps

I'll be anxious to hear that! It's been a while since NSE did Parade...I do recall hearing Mr Riewerts stating in 2006 (year of A.T.W.T) that NSE had missed their chance at doing it. Do you know why (other than it's an amazing song!) he picked now to do it?

Probably because he felt that three years was long enough to wait.

PARADE is my favorite musical in the world. I loved when Northside did "The Old Red Hills of Home" in 2003, it is the only reason I found the musical.

Davenport likes to use each others songs. Davenport North did "Anthem" in the early '00s. Davenport West followed suit in 2004. Davenport West did "Let Yourself Go" in 2006, and Davenport North followed suit the next year. Davenport Central did "All The Wasted Time" in 2006, and now Davenport North does it in 2009! Its one big circle!

We had very mixed ratings at Great River last year.

This year we are performing...

"Let's Get Loud"
"Journey Medley" -Any Way You Want It/Don't Stop Believin'
"All The Wasted Time"
"Heartlight"
"Me and My Gang"

.

i forgot that sauk prarie had to go home early last year. I did really like Norths show last year.

I remember that as well, I was very happy North got the chance to perform again because I was a big fan of their show. I was surprised they were in 7th after the day round last year

Also, Sauk Prairie, who made finals, had to go home and not perform in finals so they could miss the storm. 7th place preliminary scorer Davenport North was then allowed into finals.

That is right, i couldn't remember if Sauk performed in finals or not, so i just didn't say anything.

??
people didnt get to perform?

Because of the bad weather that was heading Davenports way they didn't have Davenport Central or West perform their shows to save time.

Which was disapointing because i didn't get to see Central at all last year.

One of the finest venues that you can ask for, Radisson hotel right across the street, great volunteers, and it's hosted by two schools. Great River is great!

Also the competition is usually good too " border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

I can confirm Reedsburg's plans to be at Davenport. We're all freaking out that we get to be the first Reedsburg show choir to leave our state in many years.

And what a GREAT competition to choose as your first one. Great River is always one of my favorites to go to!
