Don't count Busco out of the night show. We have the potential to have one of the best years our group has ever had. Plus our show is freakin sweet!!!!!!!!!

well this would how it would work. We go to dekalb, perform, then head over to norwell, and perform there, and then we'd stay for day awards there and when we make the night show, then we stay at norwell and perform as one of the first groups in finals, and then we hear from a parent or something if we made finals at dekalb, and if so, we'd shoot back over to dekalb and perform in the finals there. I'm not quite sure how we will eat something in between, but we'll probably have something to eat after that. so yeah, that's what we kinda did my freshman year in '07 with carroll and luers.

I'm a big Verda fan and I have fallen in love with some old Edgewood shows thanks to YouTube I know that the talent is there I just hope the drive is there like you said...I'm wishing Music Warehouse tons of luck and I can't wait to see their full show live for the first time since 2006(which I loved)!!!!

This is going to be a great day!!! I'm going to just predict finalists because the caliber of groups at this competition is crazy.

I think the top five groups could go so many different ways. Depending on the panel and order of performance it could be a totally crazy day of show choir, with results going almost any way. I hope that Edgewood can return to their old form this year and produce a great show that entertains like they used to. Good Luck to all of the competing choirs. Can't wait for this one!!!!

It's pretty much a thrill for me. I can't wait to go to 2 comps. in one day. I did it with Northrop my freshman year in 2007. We went to Bishop Luers and Carroll I think. It was quite hectic at times but such a rush. Also, it was pretty nasty to put on sweaty clothes for the third time in the day since we made both night shows. oh myy. We ended up placing 1ru at luers and i think 5ru at carroll. Not positive. It is going to be a verrry busy day on Valentine's Day. Ahhhh!

Speaking as a junior high director myself, we prefer the Friday nights. There are several JH basketball tournaments, jazz band fests, and other middle school activities that occur on Saturdays. Tell the truth, 2/14 is really the only Saturday in the month of February or March where we are without conflicts.
Though I agree with you, having the younger kids observe and support their older counterparts is worthwhile, if your school feeds into a program that hosts a contest, such viewing could, and often does, occur then.
In years past, we have attended Fairfield as our lone Saturday contest, as they usually get a ton of JH's attending. This year, it doesn't work with our spring break.
I'm hoping, and thinking, that Dekalb will still be a terrific opportunity for our kids to cheer on some of the best HS choirs around. However, driving all the way up 37 and 69 to perform against only one other school is a little less than appealing.

Almost a straight shot down I-69 makes this a tempting double, but it would be too much to think about if bad weather hits up here in NE Indiana. Even in good weather, its quite a stretch. We thought about trying a double 2 years ago, but it was a Friday/Saturday split with Franklin Central and Lawrence Central. We ended up deciding against it and just doing FC. For us it was just a few miles away. Our group, Soundwave, would still be in it if they wern't in temporary hold for lack of class time. But the high school group will still make its regular stop there.

I can't tell you why the lack of JH/MS groups competing here. This invitational has had as many as 6 and as few as 2 in the past. There's another contest in NE Indiana that same day that also has a JH/MS contest. That could be part of it.
