You know, where your gut clenches, your heart races about 3 times as fast as normal, you are as tense as a bowstring, and your hands are being slowly crushed by the people next to you as you hold hands, barely breathing, waiting for your group's name to be read. It's SUCH an adrenaline rush! My heart's already racing lol.

Hm...I would like to come to this one, seeing how INSANE it's going to be...but being a college kid, taking a whole weekend off for show choir can be tough...but SO worth it! Oh lord this competition is SO INSANE. How on earth will anyone be able to predict which groups will make finals? There are too many talented groups! Wow. Of course you all know who I'll be rooting for ;) but still, I wish the best of luck to all of the groups going

I know some of you are scared and want to run screaming in the other direction after you looked at the lineup, but don't you just LOVE that feeling you get in your stomach while they draw the groups in Finals from the hat? You know, where your gut clenches, your heart races about 3 times as fast as normal, you are as tense as a bowstring, and your hands are being slowly crushed by the people next to you as you hold hands, barely breathing, waiting for your group's name to be read. It's SUCH an adrenaline rush! My heart's already racing lol.

Hopefully I'll see you at Supernova!

Just wanted to wish everyone luck in the rehearsals and weeks leading up to Supernove 2009! I know the Bemidji kids are excited, and I know I am excited to see some awesome shows again this year from all the amazing groups coming! I am also excited to see what April James has done with Totino Grace...a powerhouse show choir program mixed with a powerhouse choreographer is sure to be a smash hit!!! Also, can't wait to see my choreography on stage when Linn Mar's prep group performs! Those were some awesome kids to work with!

Again, I wish the best to every group, this is shaping up to being one of the best competitions of the year, and adding the 7th finalist definately is a great idea! Kudos to the Linn Mar directors!

See you all in Jan!

Which schools will already have a competition under their belt by Linn Mar? Is it just Totino, IC High, CR Prairie, and Johnston?

Xavier will have gone to Onalaska the week before as well.

Very happy to see 7 groups in finals - I think it's a very good reason for it too.

LOL, I really don't know which one is ACTUALLY right. I do know that the schedule I posted is accurate to the one we were sent. I posted it pretty quickly after we all got the e-mail though, so there's absolutely a possibility the schedule has changed since then.

HAHA yay!!! It'll just have to be a surprise then!

Ana-

I just looked at the Supernova website and they have Iowa City West and Iowa City High switched on their schedule. Which one is correct?

As the folks at Linn-Mar explained it, they felt so early in the season, and with such a high caliber, it was important to offer 7 groups an opportunity to perform in finals.

I think it's a GREAT decision, and really supports the educational side of show choir, as well as the competitive. Providing an opportunity like this to an additional group, at a competition as amazing as this one promises to be, is really a testament to the philosophy at Linn-Mar. I can't believe how lucky we are to be a part of Supernova again this season!

I like this reason.
