Well Xavier is sending 11 groups to state speech with the majority of them having show choir members... needless to say it will be a frantic day (but not as bad as All-State speech/Great River last year hopefully).

The more I think about it, the more I really hope I get to see this competition and not be at state speech... Is that a bad thing?

Quite honestly... with the line-up, I think I'd choose State Speech. " border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

I'm guessing Jay is right about the speech schedule. It's good to see Xavier's groups are spaced at the extreme ends of the competition because Xavier generally has a large speech/show choir overlap, so it's nice to see Mount Pleasant is accomidating

Sorry about the double topic too.

Like I said, Mt. Pleasant has to accomodate everyone's schedule or they will become unsanctioned by the IHSMA. The same this with Johnston since their competition falls on the speech date. (Although, that does not mean the competitions still don't accomodate...)

It's fine.

I'm just so anxious for this comp.

I hope NSE can bring it on.

You probably mean North, and I'm not sure. This is honestly the weirdest schedule I have ever seen

No I'm sure he means Iowa City West... if you look their varsity is also before their prep. I honestly didnt notice North's time different either. I'm guessing the crazy schedule has to do with the Iowa State Speech Association Contest. It is always on this weekend and Mt. Pleasant must accomodate for the groups or they will become un-sactioned by the IHSSMA.

Predictions for finalists:

Cedar Rapids Xavier "Xhilaration"
Iowa City West "The Good Time Company"
Davenport Central "Central Singers, Inc."
Davenport North "Northside Establishment"
Southeast Polk "RAMification"
Linn-Mar "In-Step"

There already was a topic for this somewhere....

Ankeny, Linn-Mar, and Cedar Rapids Washington will all not be returning to Mt. Pleasant this year. All were 2-time Grand Champions here and I'm sure will be greatly missed.

Davenport Central is coming back again this year.

I searched and couldn't find it... sorry if there is.

Too bad about those three groups... obviously this competition loses a little luster without them but this is still a great lineup. I'm really excited to see the Davenport groups as well as Iowa City West.

Why is is that West's varsity group is performing earlier than their prep?
