I hope this day runs as smoothly as it usually does, under the construction circumstances.

The group you are talking about was the Millenium guys number last year...called The real deal. They had pink shirts and yes velvet suits....they did a chair dance. They are doing a guys number this year again but it has a little different feel to it

Question...is your group name "Millenium" or "Millennium"? Cause the word for a thousand years has to n's in it. But I've seen groups intentionally misspell the group name before to be different.

Just something I've wondered for a while now.

Im so excited for this competition!! Does anyone know if the group with the really hot boys number is going to be there? I know.. vague right.. I think it was executive session...
but they had these velvet suits,, and black chairs.. and basically every girls jaw was hanging on the floor after their performance

were hoping for an encore

Oh come on Jay... there is a first for everything! Davenport West has always competed with Jefferson for years now, but never placed above them... but in 2006, we did for the first time at Fort Atkinson. Times are a changin'.

PS- How are you going to go to both the Indiana State competition AND Nashville?

Oh I didn't remember you had beaten them.... So I'm thinking this: Roadtrip to Nashville for the prelims and then head up to Indianapolis for the whole competition the next day. But let's look it up on MapQuest:

Lincoln, NE to Nashville, TN: 11 hours 40 minutes... I'm thinking that my grandparents house is in between so maybe i'll stay thursday night there and then get up really early Friday morning and head over there...

Nashville, TN to Indianapolis, IN: 4 hours 32 minutes... That's easy. And then a quick 6 hour 20 minute drive back to Cedar Rapids for Spring Break!

Or... since Pete is judging in Indiana, maybe I'll just hitchhike with him and skip SCN.

I agree with this prediction a lot.... except I am pretty sure Cedar Rapids Jefferson has never lost to Waukee or Bloomington Jefferson. The last time I can remember the two Jefferson's competing was at Milton 06... CR Jefferson got 4th and Bloomington Jefferson got 6th. The last time I remember CR Jefferson and Waukee competing was Johnston 05 where Jefferson got 4th and Waukee got 6th. My predictions:

Ankeny
Omaha Westside
Urbandale
Cedar Rapids Washington
Cedar Rapids Kennedy
Cedar Rapids Jefferson

I think the top 3 could be switched around and so could the bottom 3... I think this is just going to be a competition no one can really predict!

My first prediction sure to go wrong... (Just a quick prediction based on results from previous seasons)

In Order:
Ankeny
Urbandale
Omaha Westside
Cedar Rapids Washington
Cedar Rapids Kennedy
Bloomington Jefferson Connection
Waukee
Cedar Rapids Jefferson
Valley Choralation

Going to be some CRAZY competition this year at Johnston- the following groups are all going. Any thoughts on what finals would look like with this group? I honestly have no idea with Ankeny Omaha and Urbandale all there, all three Cedar Rapids schools, Waukee is proving to be a tough competitior...

Cedar Rapids Kennedy
Cedar Rapids Jefferson
Cedar Rapids Washington
Bloomington Jefferson Connection
Ankeny
Urbandale
Waukee
Omaha Westside
Valley Choralation

This is shaping up to be one of those competitions where it would be an honor just to make it into the finals. I didn't know that all three of those C.R. schools were coming to Johnston. I knew Jefferson and Wash were coming, but hadn't heard that Kennedy would be there.

You know, I should read the other posts before I add my two cents' worth. Yes, all those are correct as of last week, and Totino may be coming as well. We hope so and are looking forward to hosting all of you!

From what I was able to piece together from other school's web sites, and some who have already announced their season's contests - these are more or less confirmed (please correct it if it's wrong, though! I don't mean to make any mistakes!)

Urbandale
CR Jefferson
CR Kennedy
Westside Omaha
WDM Valley

(edited as others have started to add in)
Waukee
Bloomington Jefferson

I do believe Ankeny has the 19th as an open date on their calendar - so why not say it outright? They should drive the few miles over to Johnston for the day!

Who else?

Ankeny's 8th and 9th grade Show Choirs will be at Johnston.
Nothing posted yet for that date at the HS.
(Behold, I tell you a mystery
We shall all be changed
In a moment
In the twinkling of an eye)
