my thoughts

GC: Marysville
1st RU: Piqua
2nd RU: Hurricane
3rd RU: Winfield
4th RU: Teays Valley
5th RU: Manchester

These are my total blind predictions. To be frank, I believe the top three could switch amongst themselves. But I do believe those will be your top 3. Piqua is having a great year from what I'm told, Marysville is excellent, and Hurricane is always fantastic. It will be a blood bath for those top 3.

As for the bottom 3, do not underestimate the power of Winfield. They are a fantastic group who I believe is often underrated and overlooked. Teays Valley could place higher, but I'm not sure. As for Manchester, I think they'll be in the finals.

Just my thoughts though....please don't hold them against me or get angry.

Though whatever happens, good luck to all groups!

Yea, but thats what we do on this board, like it or not. It's just harmless predictions anyway, we all know we're not experts or anything, but it is interesting to see what people think is going to happen at any given competition. If you don't like them, skip over them till you find a post that isn't a prediction

Saying that, i'm really excited for this competition, it should be a really fun one to go watch. There will definatly be a dog fight to get into finals, and Twinsburg always runs their competition very well and find new ways to make their competition one of the more fun ones to attend. As for predictions obviously it's up in the air but i'll go with:

GC: Marysville
1st: Hurricane
2nd: Piqua
3rd: Manchester
4th:Garfield Heights/Teays Valley
5th: Garield Heights/Teays Valley

Choreo: Marysville
Vocals: Hurricane
Combo: Marysville

i really think Marysville has a very good chance at taking this competition, it is the best marysville group i've ever seen, and their show is amazing and they pull it off perfectly. I love Hurricane as much as the next person, their vocals are always amazing and their shows are always very unique, but when i saw them at Cuyahoga Falls it seemed like a little something was missing. The vocals/choreography/and combo were all very strong, but it didn't seem as amazing as it has been the last couple years. I have yet to see Manchester yet this year... but they usually have very strong shows with very strong vocals so i expect no less from them this year. I also think by this time in the year Teays Valley will be a little more adjusted to their director and all of the new people in the group will have had time to mature and get more used to the whole competition rutine so i think they will be hard to keep out of finals. They improved greatly from prelims to finals at Marysville, and even though they aren't as strong this year with this much time to improve and adjust i think it will be hard to keep them out of finals. Of course the final lineup could change if Medina is actually coming to the competition. Should be a fun competiton

This is one of the best competitions I have ever seen in the history of Ohio, I would even say that this schedule is just as good or even better than Dekalb's lineup.. This is a hard prediction for me, I will not lie.. Keep in mind I'm making these decisions based on the fact that it will be late in the season and many of these groups will have gotten all the kinks out, and some will plummit.... But here I go...

5th runner up: Solon
4th runner up: Garfield Heights
3rd runner up: Manchester
2nd runner up: Piqua
1st runner up: Marysville
Grand Champion: Hurricane, WV

Best Vocals: Hurricane
Best Band: Marysville
Best Choreography: Hurricane

Now keep in mind this was a really hard decision for me, because there are so many powerhouses... I will give my reasoning behind all of it though.... First of all I put Solon in 6th because they are Solon, and as much as they aren't supreme this year, they are indeed very good regardless.. Now I could have easily put Teays here, but I didn't due to a new director change, and less power in the vocal area.... For 5th place, I put Garfield Heights here, this is a group who will be able to contend for the grand championship here in the next year or so, I think they are very good, but not good enough to win it yet... In 4th place I put Manchester there.. They have a very rich history at this competition and always seem to do well here, I don't think this year will be an exception... Now here comes the tricky part 3rd place through grand champion.... All three of these groups will have won 1 or 2 grand championships by this time... So it was really hard for me to pick the order... I put Piqua in third, don't get me wrong they have a very strong show, but there is something missing for me.. I don't know what it is.. I put Marysville in second.. This is a very strong Marysville group, and I wouldn't be suprised if they beat Hurricane, but when Hurricane gets clean they're hard to beat.. And of course I put Hurricane as my grand champion... And it is as simple as this.. They are unbelievable in every aspect of show choir... And when late February hits, they are very hard to beat... Well these are my predictions, and I hope that they are 100% right, although I could see one or two groups make finals that I don't have in.. But I guess we can wait and see on February 27th... Cya all there...

T. Shimmel

these are very informed predictions and i can easily see how results could play out this way. i agree that the top four shown here all have a fantastic shot at finals, and though i also believe in the chances for Solon and Garfield Heights to make a finals appearance, i hesist very much to leave out Euclid and Teays Valley. all four of these groups show marked promise and certainly have the ability to showcase a finals-worthy performance during daytime.

I honestly wouldn't doubt Euclid out... They're definatly on their A Game this year... They showed an outstanding performance on Saturday.

5th runner up: Solon
4th runner up: Manchester
3rd runner up: Piqua
2nd runner up: Hurricane
1st runner up: Garfield Heights
Grand Champion: Marysville

Best Vocals: Marysville
Best Band: Hurricane
Best Choreography: Garfield

This comp. is really gonna be tough and i feel any of the top 3 could take GC I would have put Hurricane at GC but seeing as they lost a large number of seniors I dont know how they are going to look this season. Marysville always sings amazing and there dancing is always clean. As for garfield they have hunger in there eyes and if they continue to work hard they are going to be a tough group to beat this year "FEAR THE HEIGHTS"

Capital's made an appearance for at least the past two years, so i wouldn't be surprised if they're coming.

also, Manchester came last year and won in 2004, so i'd say there's a good possibility that they could show up.

YUP, Manchester Capitol Swing and Touch of Swing will be there this year! and they look pretty amazing
