well, i thought I'd share my thoughts on the whole competition.

First off, I loved every group i saw at the comp, which i realized is a first. Everyone, and i mean everyone has become so much better this year and it makes me super happy. Jefferson, i loved the opener, LOVED it. it really gave u room to have fun and show your ability to sing and dance. Also, that last phrase u sing gives me chills. Love it, big step up. Hastings, i love the new direction. Bring me to life, i think, could not have be better done. You pulled it off, and that says a lot. I also loved your second song and your ballad. I dont kno why, but during the ballad, i love how the girls dont look at the boys and the boys dont look at the girls, because that deals alot with personal characters you protray on stage. And also, just beautifully sang. Kennedy, magnificant job. When i was a freshman, i saw you for the first time at hastings and to be honest, your show was good. But, i saw your show from last year and this year at eau claire and both times you have blown me away. You've really become a show choir thats got it going on. definitly my favorite show to watch last year, and probably again this year. and btw, your band is beyond belief. they really add so much more to your show, and when u have time, really thank them. every piece of your show really has enthusiaism. Personally, i think you deserved to win, and im not just saying that to be nice or to be a suck up. really, nice job. Fort Atkinson, once again a great show for you this year. I love the ballad, but im sure everyone says that. I also love the song with the 2 girls and guy solo, i believe that song is why im going to watch you again and again.

so now that ive said what ive had to say about the groups, i wanna talk about the results. Show choir is really opinion, which really is why i love being in it. Its alot easier in basketball or football to say who the winner is, because u count how many times they but the ball through the hoop, or how many touchdowns they scored. But in show choir, its all about how you do things. Personal preference is what makes entertainment great. Having a difference in opinion is a god given right, and i think that what ever you think is the best, is the best. I personally believe we did a great show, and the judges thought so too. All the groups in finals had a great show, i saw all of them but one. Also, not being 1st isnt the worst thing. It would be worse to not see other groups or perform your self. Seeing other groups succeed helps everyone to become better. To all the groups, however you were placed, really great job. My expectations off all the groups were highly exceed. hope to see you all again this year.

Don't worry...the guys pretty much ate the microphones during finals...haha. I think a lot of soloists had some trouble getting their voices through the sound system.

I agree... I guess most people were just used to hotter mikes...c'mon, people, they're not ice cream cones, point them at your mouth! As for the overall mikes, they were lower, which really helps with a show choir's blend instead of mikes level with the singers which can pick up people in the front row a little too much.

Fort, you guys represent the idea of show choir well. Each week your level of improvement alone impresses me! You guys are amazing. If you guys watched a video from Viterbo I'm SURE you guys could look back and laugh at it. The only reason you took 5th was because there was so much talent at this comp! I can't wait to see how the rest of your season turns out!

Thank you!!! We had a lot of fun at this competition. It was our first time doing the costume change, so pre-lims was a little shaky. We were just glad we got the chance to step it up in finals, and I believe we did. Congratulations to everyone. I only got the chance to see Kennedy, and I know why they won, they were spectacular! I wish I would've gotten to see more though, especially Totino since they're always top of the line as well. Thanks again Eau Claire for hosting a great competition. Good luck with everyone on the rest of your seasons!

I didn't really hear what they were saying during prelims, but I was towards the front during the finals and I could hear them. They were SO loud (Since the mic's weren't doing enough of any good,) I knew they were doing it just to make sure they got heard... And it worked! They were HILARIOUS!! The guy on the left, the second or third line. I don't remember what he says but the way he said it was enough! I can't wait to see you guys again at Fame Chicago, I'm going there to cheer on OASC, and I'm DEFINITELY going to watch Bloomington Jefferson and cheer the roof off for them just as much as I do for OASC.

Sorry, I did mean Jefferson...I was just being a bit of a space cadet pinch.gif . Seriously, those 4 guys are hilarious.

Also, I really hope no one was offended by any of my comments...it'd be a lot better if this was a positive-feedback-only thread, and that definitely was not a good post to kick off the discussion.

Did you mean jefferson? Our group was the one that did candyman...unless NSP is too, but I couldn't watch their show cuz they were right before us. I'm assuming that they don't do the exact same thing we do though ;)

and if I knew who it was that said that to you... I'd give them a smack in the head.
(you probably should have. I wouldn't have blamed you... haha)

I'm excited for Hastings because I think the timing will work out better and I'll get to see more choirs! I felt so rushed and busy in Eau Claire. Especially because our bus broke down... what an adventure.

Totally with you Han..
and i'm guessing it was a newbie who doesn't know much about show choir yet..
no worries guys they'll learn

But thanks again totino for being such good sportmen... and women lol

You guys are amazing and again I have my looove for b-town east-siders. See ya'll next weekend!!!!

I was there as an alumni this year from Fort, so I got to see a lot of the shows.

First, yaay for Fort because they didn't think they would do so good this year and I think they're doing especially well for losing so many former singers. Also, Jack, you give me shivers everytime you sing! I wish I had the amazing singing genes of your family. Keep kicking best male soloist ass!

Ok then also, I saw Bloomington Kennedy, and I was blown away. When I heard you were going to London, I was like...they better be good because they're representing the states and show choir (haha super dumb, I know), but after the show was done, I thought you guys were amazing! Your vocals were so strong and your energy was there through out the whole show, plus your soloists, especially in car wash gave me chills. Amazing.

I also remember seeing Totino and I think that your guys show is amazing as well. I'm jealous because you always have amazing, beautiful costumes, I loved all of them, and also, all the girls in your choir have like...the perfect shape. I was jealous. You certainly deserved first or second, which you recieved.

Don't let people kick you down. Sorry to hear about you unfortunate experiences after the competition, but those other groups are dumb, and you shouldn't feel bad about second, because, seriously, I mean, think of it this way, at least you kicked every other choirs asses. So keep it up!

anyways...done.

A friend and I were talking to a Totino alumni at Winterfest and he said people hating on Totino like that makes them do better and win because of it. Lol. I'm hoping to see somewhat of a comeback next week at Hastings from Totino because of this though. All new lineup of judges. So it can't all be bad.

NSP- I watched your show and it was by far better than past years, but to be honest i feel you recieved your spot. The groups above you are extremely good groups with past records to back that up. Keep your heads in the game and you'll get better and better
-Tom

a couple(three) things:

Thanks to ana for clearing that possition of mine. My language was slightly "ishy", but what I meant was that NSP did well considering the groups which they were competing against have done well in previous seasons, and just because they did not place where they wanted to did not mean the groups above them did not deserve their placement. My comment was not one to bash NSP because I love their improvement, but it was just to explain to them in my opinion why they were not in finals was not because they are a bad choir, but the other choirs are simply very good. Like ana said, i don't believe a competiton should be held on reputations or past records, however past records can point to a good program, which was what I was implying.

Secondly, I know Katy (or anyone) was pointing fingers towards Eau Claire. The sentiment held against us is typically negative and it can become discouraging.

Finally, I would like to congradulate BK on their excellent performance. Don't let this become a "totino shoulda" thing...you should be proud that you did so well. I loved your show and thought it was very create. I laughed once I saw the car come out while you were singing "Grease Lightning." We'll see you next weekend.
-Tom

I'm really sorry, its just, we haven't won in 4 years, so it was an absolutely incredible experience and of course we're gonna go crazy. We had so much bad things happen last year, and we were the underdogs who no one noticed or cared about and to come and win it. just wow. I am still in shock. All the other choirs were absolutely incredible and to be able to even compete against them in finals is a huge honor. Congrats to all the groups, you were phenomenal. I can't wait for next weekend.

Hi ok, so I know what you mean about the whole be nice. But RIG hasn't been GC at anything for a long time. They had a semi-ok year last year where as Totino you guys have had GC at sooooo many competitions in the past. I mean RIG went from like 5-6th place material and not even making finals to number 1 at their first comp of the year? I know I would freak out like they did. You're right, sportsmanship is important, but seriously they had the right to freak out.

All of this is true but what I felt most put off by is the fact that I congratulated some BK members and one of them said "nice sarcasm". I wasn't being sarcastic. I loved BK ballad. It is my favorite song.

Another thing that confuses me is that when we're here on show choir.com we act all nice and want to be friends with everyone but when we get to competitions we only stay with our groups.

Bloomington Kennedy- I loved your show. I was blown away by your ballad. You have an amazing sound. And don't say your not on the same playing field as us or Bemiji or Hastings. You are!!!!!! (I mean this as a compliment) " border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Fort- I didn't see your show but I'm sure it was great. Congrats to Jack on best male soloist!!!!! I'm sure it was as amazing as last year at Totino-Grace Spectacular (I was one of your hosts). " border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Bloomington Jefferson- I loved the novelty last year but you blew that away this year with your entire show. Amazing. I loved "Stand Out"

Hastings- Amazing as always. I loved the battle between the sexes!!!!

NSP- I love the song "Letters From War". The guy who wrote that song is my favorite singer. Don't give up keep on trying. You can do it!!!!!!!

I had a ton of fun and can't wait to see people at Hastings this next weekend!!!!!!!!!

Bloomington Kennedy-although I felt your show was incredible, I was slightly put off by your group celebrating so much (when you realized you won) that Brian could not get on stage to receive our trophy. You have incredible talent, and you deserve some props, but wait for the appropriate time.
