Thanks for clearing that up Adam. I can't remember who said that, but I wasn't sure.

No is the answer to the choreography question....

They still use Dwight Jordan and Corey Anderson.

Yeah, I got to see them Friday night before the middle school competition. So, it was kind of an unfair venue because it probably wasn't there best, but here's my thought. It was a decent show begining to end, but it didn't strike me as "wow, I'm watching Onalaska right now". The vocal power wasn't as strong as usual. The choreography wasn't as crisp and clean either. Someone told me they changed choreographers too. Is that true??

It's almost unfair to judge, though, because of the transtition. I couldn't imagine if I would have had Esser for two years, and then a new director came in. That would be tough. I still think they will make finals at all the shows they go to, I just don't think it'll be a big year in the win column.

Dustin, it sounds like you stuck around and saw Ona perform this past weekend. Care to share your thoughts?

I have to agree with Adam. I learned way too much about some of the girls because of costuming. I usually like edgy, but that was even a little too much.

Plus, I stick by my prediction of Logan beating Onalaska. I really enjoy how much that shocked people Having seen these shows, I honestly believe it can happen. But we'll just have to wait and see

I don't think Madison East will make finals. I think their costumes are what caused them to get last place at Monona Grove, behind girls groups (I based this off of the placements in the Monona Grove topic, knowing that atleast the first 10 were accurate). They also weren't very clean this year, and sang only decently, not like they have in the past. They were decent, but their closing costumes were just FAR too revealing for the girls.

i think onalaskas going to just as fine as they've done in the past years. my guesses (in no order):
Central
Ona
Waconia
Mundelein
Madison East (because lets all admit, their dance moves are KICKIN!)

and for the 6th one id have to go with either:
Neenah
Mayville

Eek, Dustin. I realize too that Onalaska has gone through a director change, they'll be fine, I think.

I think the top three will be these (in no order):

Onalaska
La Crosse Central
Mundelein

My other finalists will be:

Logan
Neenah
Waconia

Someone asked for predictions, so I'll take a shot:

GC: Grand Central Station
1st RU: Mundelein Sound
2nd RU: Waconia Power Company
3rd RU: Logan Class Act
4th RU: Onalaska Hilltoppers
5th RU: Northern Lights
Good luck to all, can't wait to see all the groups!

Logan's going to beat out Onalaska eh? That would be so weird!!!!!! Logan has a decent show this year though. I haven't seen Ona.

My predictions for finalists, just going off of results so far from the year and knowledge of past performance of the groups that are attending:

(in order of daytime performance)

GCS
Neenah
Logan
Mundelein
Waconia
Onalaska

Though I think North St. Paul has a shot too.

I'm pulling for Central Connection to win the Prep Division...of course I may be a little biased " border="0" alt="innocent.gif" />

With what I've seen from Chippewa Falls in the past, I think they could win class A. Central Connection and Midwest Magic are possibilities as well. I notice that on the schedule, OHS Express is competing in open class, but I think if they were in class A, they'd have a shot at winning too.
