ok, for the record, this is how they did it last year. I spoke to the director and all that has changed is that the girls group is with the small division. I promise it will be ok. Nevada, you dont have anything worry about... just do your best and you'll rock!

good luck everyone else competiting! it's gonna be a good one

Why did they change the way that finals are done this year? Or am I crazy and they've always done them this way? They're taking the top 2 or something from each group. Why aren't the choirs with the highest scores going to be in finals?

Oh! And watch out for Nevada's Treble Effects! I went to a practice, and they look pretty good!!

You should just not pretend to be better than the Rockbridge show choir competition. I really think you should come.

Brittany:

I'll pretty much going to rock it. I guarantee. I think, though, if you want me to go to Truman, you need to talk to me at Rockbridge. I'm a finalist for the Pershing scholarship and the three interview days are right over All-State Choir week. You have to help me make some good decisions. I, apparently, would have to interview at like 8:00 in the morning on Wednesday and then travel to Tan-Tar-A to register for State in the evening. You should call me and be decisive.

Oh, and our backdrop came and it's so cool. I just really want you to see the show.

You and your horrible grammar!

Oh my goodness Scott dear!!!! If you have even the slightest chance of getting the Pershing scholarship I STRONGLY encourage you to go for it. A free ride, plus a free study abroad...you'd be crazy not to do it Scott. Seriously. (and Truman also has me, which is a MAJOR plus! ;) )

Do you want me to call you sometime this week or just wait till Rockbridge?

The website doesn't have any changes yet....

My work really needs to give me more hours, I'm spending way too much time thinking about show choir stuff!

P.S. Scottie...I'm probably going to be staying up at college during the P Hill comp (unless I decide to waste my time and gas money on the trip down), so you'd better do an awesome job on your solo 'cause it's the only time I'll hear it!!! : )

THERE'S BEEN A CHANGE!!!!!

3 choirs have dropped out of the competition, so i think the schedule may be different. You may want to check the RB music web site
www.rbhsbruinsmusic.net i believe, and check the schedule again.
Hope this doens't mess anybody up!!!
*katie*
GOOD LUCK TO EVERYBODY!! I'M SO EXCITED!

hey... jcity has gotten better definately from last year. even though they dont have a band or anything they do ok. i mean they put a LOT of energy into their show. and most importantly they have lots of fun it looks like. thats what music is all about.

Ok. I'm gonna play the "good cop" now.

You guys need to stop the bashing of a-choir-that-shall-not-be-named...they don't have anyone to defend them on showchoir.com....and if they did, imagine how mortified they would be if they saw what you all are posting.

It's not their fault that show choir isn't popular at their school; many schools (including all three/four of ours) throughout the nation struggle with that. I feel like they work as hard as they can with the opportunities handed to them.

In the past, their set has always been great, their choreography has sometimes been amazing (the plane year, the orange suits, the cages...I was impressed). Just because their director obviously doesn't pick good "show choir" songs and does not stress vocals does not give us a right to blatantly make fun of them. From what I remember of them, they seem to have fun on and off stage, and that's all that really matters.

There. Got that off my chest. Now, back to the discussion of Rockbridge (not JC).

i totaly agree. They may not be the most vocally strong, but last year when they had the revoloving bed... that was pretty sweet! i'll give em' props

Hi lets consider the source -- JC RIOT has always been the laughing stock of show choir in Missouri -- everything they do "blows" -- just not anybody away -- LOL

Are they at Rockbridge --- I will be so excited to see them if they are!!!!! They always amaze me how bad show choir can really be.

Whats so different about your show this year cloggin chic?

haha poor JC RIOT...I always try and get done with all my stuff so I can hurry and watch them...they make me laugh, and watching them makes me really appreciate being in my show choir just ten times over.

Right Ash, but PHill was still missing the fifth song at the time.

Though, like Brittany said, there's no one who knows for sure. Besides, JCity Riot had a plane on stage a few years ago and no one was "blown away." Oh well.

From Nevada, good luck to all the choirs who are showing up next week. We're looking forward to finally performing.
