Well considering VanCleave did the whole "Broadway in the schools" that he boasts about in his bio... I would assume so ;).

That and if you look at the shows that he did at Laff Jeff when he was there with Kevin Butler... Very broadway heavy.

Also... in reply to my last post... Ly Tartell is a very tough vocal judge and the one thing FC always has on their side is their excellent sound, though last year was a tough year for them... over half of them were sophomores and Freshmen... but the year prior... they took vocals over EEE and Dekalb at MTZ's contest and at Prelims at fame Branson were in second place quite close to Clinton. Who knows what they'll do this year... i'm SOOO excited for this contest and having said all that... my predictions still stand...

What does this mean?

Ly Tartell, Eric Vancleave, and Marty Demott always tend to like Franklin Central shows... Seems that they prefer a more Traditional Broadway style show.

Too bad Fairfield can't compete, even that would make everything that much more interesting.

Anyone know who the adjudicators are?

what i bolded is incorrect. last year Marysville did compete against Zionsville twice, however at Fairfield Zionsville was Third Runner-Up and Marysville was First Runner-Up, and at Edgewood Zionsville was First Runner-Up and Marysville was Grand Champion.

i think you might have confused our record with Zionsville with our record against Hurricane. last year at Poca Marysville was Grand Champion and Hurricane was First Runner-Up, but at Fairfield Marysville was First Runner-Up and Hurricane was Grand Champion.

they were the only group with which Marysville had a 1-1 record at the end of the season, and that is precisely why i'm so excited to see them compete again at both Twinsburg and Fairfield this season.

YES YES... i'm very sorry... i was thinking it was zionsville and marysville.

Either way my predictions stand

I'm going to base my predictions SOLELY on last year's performance at the end of the season from these groups.

GC Clinton
1 RU Hurricane
2 RU Zionsville or Marysville (1 and 1 last year if i remember right)
3 RU Zionsville or Marysville
4 RU Eisenhower
5 RU Franklin Central

Vocals: Clinton or Hurricane
Choreo: Clinton or Hurricane
Band: Franklin Central or Clinton. FC score best band at i think 4 out of 6 tough comps last year. but who knows about this year.

Clinton is always as close to perfect as possible
Hurricane's vocals were nothing short of Ridiculous last year.
Same story for zionsville and marysville both groups had VERY successful years
Eisenhower did not impress me too much though they have quite a bit of success in their history. so... anyway.

with this line-up, i'd hardly call it being "dragged" there. Fairfield is looking to be one of the sinlge most difficult competitions in the country next season, and that's including preliminary line-ups of national competitions. i can't wait for the first weekend of March to get here!

looking at this list it's nearly impossible to have the slightest clue as to how results could go - many (excellent) schools have been added since i took my first shot at making predictions. but there's no harm in taking a guess, so here are my thoughts on how things could turn out.

GC-Clinton
1RU-Eisenhower
2RU-Hurricane
3RU-Marysville
4RU-Findlay
5RU-Zionsville

Vocals-Hurricane or Clinton
Choreo-Clinton or Eisenhower
Band-Clinton or Marysville or Findlay

i completely left out Franklin Central, Piqua and Beavercreek, and all three groups have more than a great shot at making finals. as for caption awards, they are again nearly impossible to pick out at this point, but i made my choices based on which groups were particularly accomplished in whatever area last season.

Wow INCREDIBLE competition is all i can say.... i saw all of these groups last year and have seen things from this year from a few.

I'm going to base my predictions SOLELY on last year's performance at the end of the season from these groups.

GC Clinton
1 RU Hurricane
2 RU Zionsville or Marysville (1 and 1 last year if i remember right)
3 RU Zionsville or Marysville
4 RU Eisenhower
5 RU Franklin Central

Vocals: Clinton or Hurricane
Choreo: Clinton or Hurricane
Band: Franklin Central or Clinton. FC score best band at i think 4 out of 6 tough comps last year. but who knows about this year.

The only reason i put Franklin Central on there, Knowing that they had a Shaky Year last year. is that the group was including almost 20 underclassmen. This years group, if not Older, is much more experienced. Have heard rumors from a parent that The director would feel comfortable competing Now. AT THE SAME TIME... if they ARE incredible at this point... they could peak too soon for this comp. Not to mention that they were a Close second to Clinton 2 years ago at Fame Branson Prelims. Who knows they are unpredictable i think. The other groups speak for themselves... Beavercreek, piqua, or findlay haven't really done anything remarkable over the past few years that i can think of... not that they aren't Great contenders. I just don't know what to think.

there's my opinion for what its worth... which is probably nothing!!! lol
