GC: Clinton Attache (Choreo and Band)
1RU: Hurricane (Vocals)
2nd RU:Eisenhower
3rd RU: Marysville
4th RU:Franklin Central
5th RU: Findlay
Clinton is phenominal year after year, so I have no doubt that they won't be anything less than spectacular this year.
Hurricane is a very different choir. They are usually amazing in their own different way. They have an amazing mature sound and blew everyone out of the water vocally last year at this competition. Choreographically its just weird to watch them... but I think they will do very well at this competition
Eisenhower needs to be incredibly on vocally to be able to get anywhere in finals, choreo wise they are always clean and great, I'm just worried to see how vocally they will compete. I believe that they will pull it together especially for this competition.
Marysville never impressed me last year, although I think they are a growing threat for being one of the best in the nation, I didn't think they were anything special last year, besides the fact that I liked their opener, I mean pocahantas, who does that? its was amusingly good. but the rest of the show was blane and nothing great, hopefully their show will be better this year, and it needs to be to be more competitive against the other groups. I have hope that they will surpise me, but i don't think it will happen at this competition.
Franklin Central has been screwed over so many times in the past, sometimes it was the group's/band's fault, sometimes it was questionable judging, I'm sure Franklin Central has learned from their past and will put together and produce an amazing show. Their lack of consistency was their problem last year, but they will definately be out for blood here. Although I have had many unfriendly encounters with FC students, I believe that they will be on their best behavior this season on stage and off, because, from working with many judges, they do notice what students are doing between shows and sometimes even during shows if its that bad.
Findlay, i hear is a great choir, never seen them live, seen videos, I think they could be great, but I'm not sure if they will exactly cut it as much as they need to against some of these great choirs.
There are many wild cards in the competition, Zionsville shows promise, but I've heard from an alumni they lost a great talented class of seniors and are still dealing with a new director. I look forward to seeing them, and I could definately see them knocking a powerhouse out of the finals and maybe being in the middle of the standings in finals, we'll see!
Other finalist contenders: Beavercreek, Piqua and possibly even shelbyville
From what i have a seen in the last 3 years, and what i have heard/seen this year.
GC: Clinton (everything but band) <-------maybe an upset from FC or Findlay, we shall see
1 RU: Franklin Central/Findlay
2 RU: Franklin Central/Findlay
3 RU: Marysville/Eisenhower
4 RU: Marysville/Eisenhower
5 RU: Hurricane
Band: FC
Great contest overall, and many people will want to come and watch.
OMG, It is over a month away and I can't even wait. I only get to perform during daytime, but I still get to perform and I cannot wait to see CLINTON live

I think FC is going to be gunning for EEE and Marysville and findlay vice versa. i just realized that they see all those groups 3 times...
By the 23rd i think this is how things will shape up...
GC: Clinton Attache
1 RU: Franklin Central (hopefully not just wishful thinking here)
2 RU: Hurricane
3 RU: Marysville
4 RU: Findlay
5 RU: Eisenhower.
I SERIOUSLY think that if franklin Central went last or 2nd to last in Finals that this is how it could work out... Knowing their luck they'll go first and end up in 5th or 6th... Anyone have a Schedule for Prelims?
OMG it's not even February yet dude! Chill out on the Schedule! Dang!

i'm definatly ridiculously excited for this competition. I'll go with:
GC: Clinton
1st: Marysville/Eisenhower
2nd: Marysville/Eisenhower
3rd: Findlay
4th: Hurricane
5th Franklin Central/Zionsville
also Clinton probably taking all of the caption awards

We just got done doing room asignments for the competition! Im very happy with who I get to host and this should be so much fun. We have so many junior high gruops coming that are very good. Someone in our group was like we should have a finals for them. lol Cause i think theres like 8 juniors or something like that. I would have to check, but there all very good.
Man I am excited for this competition..its going to be nuts..I kinda dont want to go because of how deadly the place is going to be, hopefully good sportsmanship holds up! There are only 6 finals spots, and easily more than that many groups that consistently make finals..so keep up the good spirits everyone!
I think that Franklin Central will take Zionsville's place. After losing a finals spot last year I don't think they'll let it happen again. Also, I agree with the GC, not with them taking EVERYTHING (choreography definitely!). But the other spots could go anyway! These guys are fierce beyond belief!
Predictions are an interesting enterprise. Many of us, when making predictions, are really saying which choirs we think will do best (or, rather, which ones we'll like best), instead of which choirs we think will actually place where. I pretty much agree with show choirNerd's assesment of the judges, although I can think of a few choirs who will probably not be too happy with Verda Slinkard's assesment of their performace.
It's interesting to venture back to the show choir world as see Broadway being viewed as that which is traditional, since leaving high school and doing music in college Broadway is now viewed by my environment as decidedly unworthy of its attentions.
Anyway, Findlay, Franklin Central, Clinton, Hurricane, Beavercreek, and Eisenhower will likely comprise this finals group. I'd predict:
GC: Clinton
1st RU: Eisenhower
2nd RU: Findlay
3rd RU: Franklin Central
4th RU: Hurricane
5th RU: Beavercreek
One new addition- Johns Hill Middle School "Xperience!" will also be competing in the jr. high division. We're definitely full with 31 awesome choirs performing in one day!
