by the way, i would like to say that Oceanside did absolutely fantabulous. I have never seen them peform so well, and I was really impressed by how they stepped up a notch. I was sad that our own people caused them to be docked more points than anything else.

Yeah, Oceanside's director was irritated about that. He walked up to me all mad and stuff (which he had the right to be!) because he felt like they got cheated, so I think next year we need a new timer, cause that wasnt the only director that complained

Yeah - he was mad cause the time guy wouldn't take a hint that we were ready. He needed a 'thumbs up' which was given to him buy our director before he went offstage (we start with the acapella) but I guess he didn't see that, because he went on and on and kept asking us if we were set, and we kept telling him we were....but he needed a 'thumbs up' and couldn't find the driector dry.gif . I must say it was quite frustrating.

oh well though..

I still had fun

How about posting the results. I am totally in the dark here. " border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />

1st: Vista Showcats - Music/Show
2nd: Eastlake Center Stage
3rd: Celebration
4th: Madison Rhapsody in Blue
5th: Orange Glen Opus One
6th: Oceanside Soundwaves
7th: San Pasqual

and now for the scores without the crazy random time issues:

1st: Vista Showcats - Music/Tied for Show
2nd: Celebration - Tied for Show (docked 25 points)
3rd: Eastlake Center Stage
4th: Oceanside Soundwaves (docked 50 points)
5th: San Pasqual (docked 75 points)
6th: Madison Rhapsody in Blue
7th: Orange Glen Opus One

that's all. " border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

we think we went over on the time limit bcuz the emcees were standing there and when a backstage crew member asked if we were ready, we replied yes, and like a minute passed and that crew member told the emcees that they were wasting our time.

Your time had nothing to do with the MC's. You're timed on your set up, set, and tear down. And if you're finished and the MC's are still talking, the time stops immediatly when you're done setting up, and not the time when the MC's are talking. So, no worries there.

well i didn't go , but my friend from eastlake said the girls group got screwed over. lol who knows  anyways i really wanted to go but i was stuck working at brea's all girl comp.

if you mean spotlight ladies...

we think we went over on the time limit bcuz the emcees were standing there and when a backstage crew member asked if we were ready, we replied yes, and like a minute passed and that crew member told the emcees that they were wasting our time. if there were so many complications with the time limit/person keeping time, just out of curiosity-none of us have seen the score sheets because we had to leave and our director stayed behind because cs had to perform, and we won't see the scores until next week at rehearsal.

anyway, i thought that was one of our better performances. i felt a little better after some of our performers told me that a lot of people from different schools were telling members of our group that we deserved to place higher.

btw- how was the brea comp? wait... i better check if there's a topic about it

you didnt go over in time in fact your time was 18 minutes and 30 seconds

thanx for clearing it up cory

btw- nice pink hair

i figured Vista would be Celebrations only competition no offense to the other groups... but Vista is VERY good even though people dont like there sets.... there group is awesome even though there sets are random as heck.... but Eastlake seriously came from left field i think that overtime charge was BS too..... Brett and I were expecting Celebration to go on at 8:45 they went on sooooo much earlier than that... hmmm i dunno im over it :-p

Thanks! I think...

Random as heck? I guess...I mean...song wise...they aren't very random...considering they are themed. ;; I guess random because we're French Revolution-themed? I dunno.

But yah...Thank you for not hating us. ^_~

I know who it is! Could it be!? is it he!?, cant be Matt Clear cuz he is good! I think it is that dude with the ego on him, who can't sing, can't dance! His name is juan! He is one of the biggest ego's celebration has ever come across, (i would know, i have been around since the beggining) And the funny thing is, like i have said, HE ISNT GOOD!

Okie you guys lets get off the timers back here. First off, I was given the job Saturday when I got there. Second off, I for the most part was given different instructions for every single group here. Third off, much to Celebrarions opinion their tech WERE still setting up their dry ice or white little blocks underneath the risers which is why the time kept running. That IS part off set-up and it sure isnt the set-up of the band which would make it part of the official set-up time and to make everything all clear here, I have no grudges against any group here so can anyone tell me why i would want to time different groups unfairly? If you can give one reason why I would do that then man you guys sure know me better then I know myself.

If the problem was whith our techs working under the risers then you mind as well stop our show in the middle and time them messing with the fog machines.

The fact of the matter is that it is over with and EVERYONE NEEDS TO GET OVER IT!!!
