A follow up to my last post: I am sure that every show choir out there works as hard each week as everyone else. Everyone knows from week to week who comes out on top. What is not told is the point difference or now the placements. I am sure if that were known that alot of people may just look at things in a different perspective. I know that 1 point is all it takes to win So PLEASE dont have a 25 minute disertation on that. And how many of these wins were decided by ties. You have seen that right here on this forum. It's wonderful to bring home Grand Champion. And its heartbreaking when you dont make the night show. Especially when you know in your heart your choir worked there as''s off the week before. Congratulate your choir OK but you dont have to repeat it over and over. Im sure that no one on this forum has a comprehension problem or they would not be able to make it in the show choir world. Everyone of us has a unique talent to offer. And NO-ONE is a better person than the next. Besides judges opionions are just that. Thank goodness we all see things from a different perspective. Good Luck this week to EVERYONE and may your hard work give you self satisfaction far beyond the feeling of Grand Champion. In my heart we are all winners. We Sing and we Dance!!!

Well I have to agree that Col. City was ripped off.  I just wonder how many post you would see on here from Lawrence Central "Ripping" other GREAT Choirs apart if you had not been as LUCKY to come out on top like you have this year.  I respect your accomplishments but you are not all of a sudden the experts at judging show choirs. And I am so tired of seeing anam713's picture everyother post  saying the same thing about how proud she is of Lawrence central.  Get over yourself.  Columbia City got ripped.  anam713 maybe you should skip high school and judge show choirs UM NOT!!!!!!

HAHA!!

Columbia City = Overated

I think it's really funny how Hurricane and Norwell were the only two finalists who were at this comp last year.  But I guess that's not a surprise seeing how last year our room was decorated with toilet paper and duct tape.

Wow...someone's sore.

Hey, next time, don't say you're from Bishop Luers and be rude...it doesn't look good.

You guys had fun last year though. If I remember correctly. With all the snow it was still a blast meeting people. And what better decor than what show choirs use all the time. Duct tape to fix things and TP for tping the director~ haah

Columbia City has beaten us pretty well at every comp. we've been at together. They are a very good group this year. After seeing them several other times this year I can tell you they just had a bad weekend. And we all have them. Center Grove was our worst show ever. We completely sucked it up at the last two comps we were at. Then BSU came along and we have been working soo hard on everything in our show and, finally pulled off a finals place, however I really thought that Columbia City would be there with us. Even ahead of us. But we all work hard and we all have good shows and bad shows and we learn what we did and we fix it and get better from where we were before. That's what we've done. We haven't been that great this year. We worked our tails off the last two weeks before BSU, and are working hard again this week for Huntington North. I look forward to competeing with Columbia City again this weekend and I hope that they have their show back to what it was when we last competed against each other! Good Luck Columbia City and everyone else in your future contests.

Can somebody tell me what happend to Columbia City?!?

They are awesome this year and i was told they were ripped off??

Can you tell me what exactly you mean by "what happend" to them. Obviosuly the judges didn't score them high enough to make finals, so what's your question. I saw Columbia City's show and while I wasn't really that entertained, they weren't totally bad by any means. They had clean choreography but I had issues with their vocals at points in the show. I don' t want this to come off as the guy from the GC group acting all "high horse" to every other choir. This is merely just my opinion of Columbia City's show. With that being said, I totally think that the groups that made finals rightfully deserved it. So what is this about them getting ripped off????? " border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Anderson Singers Unlimited - its so cool when you can look at a program and actually SEE it growing year after year...you have an amazing show and AMAZING soloists. Good luck in the future (and i think you are going to branson, right?)

Anderson Singers Unlimited are not going to Branson. They went last year...they're going to Florida on Wednesday. Anderson Highland is the group going to Branson.

Isn't Jenni Helvering the daughter of Sandi Patti? If it is, my husband's aunt (Mrs. Young) taught her in 1st grade, I think. I know she had several of Sandi's kids in her class. I heard from a Hurricane Red Hot member's mom that she was Sandi's daughter. That is so great! Jenni's grandparents came to our church several years ago for a dinner/concert.

Hey RedHot48, I'm the second soloist in the Dekalb Girls Choir show. I hope you didn't see me at the night show because I sucked it up big time, my voice was about shot, after doing 4 shows (I'm in Classic Connection and sound sensation) and the solo comp. But yeah, that's me.....lol. My name's Erica. Why did you want to know?? Great job to all the groups at Ball State!!!

Hey all, I just wanted to stop by and say that we (ball state university singers) appreciate everyone who came out to the contest and made it such a huge success! I was EXTREMELY impressed with many of the groups that came. Lawrence Central - you continue to amaze me every time I see your show. What a great year for you. I also was in LOVE with Anderson Singers Unlimited - its so cool when you can look at a program and actually SEE it growing year after year...you have an amazing show and AMAZING soloists. Good luck in the future (and i think you are going to branson, right?). Same goes for Hurricane, and NORWELL! Way to step it up after Mooresville - you really came out of the woodwork and gave your best show of the year. I'm just really proud of show choir in general - also, GIRLS GROUPS. There were SO MANY amazing groups - Lawrence North, Dekalb, LC, Columbia City - where did you come from? Geez. Overall, I was so proud to have this competition show off some of the best talent in the area and around the midwest, and I hope everyone comes back next year to make it another great day.

-Nick-

thanks so much for all of the compliments! I must say that I truly enjoyed every aspect of the competition! by the way, huge shoutout to Josh, one of ours hosts! I love him!

Congrats to all the finalists at Ball State! I wasn't there to witness the competition, but by looking at the finalists, I have no doubt that it was more than likely a very tight competition. Does anyone know the pointspread between the groups for finals? I'm very interested! Thanks!
