I seriously can't wait
AHHHH im too excited. This is my first year in choir and from what i've heard this competition is amazing. SOOOO cant wait. haha
this is going to be a great comp and i can't wait to see everyone once again!! (it seems like Diamond Bar was so long ago)
Good luck to everyone should be a great weekend!
yes . from what i've seen, brea has a lot of talent and i think its highly probable that they could finish higher than what most people expect.
Brea Olinda is incredible this year. Their set is quite bright and exciting as usual, vocals are A++, and choreography is awesome. But also recognize they may have been close to In Sync at Aztec, but not very close at Diamond Bar.
This competition is gonna be AMAZING!!! I think everyone is going to give 150% because we all want it so bad. haha. This should be epic.
In essence there is a preliminary round, and a final round here in the midwest. There are sometimes placements given for the day round, but the final placements always occur during the night. The preliminary round is typically sorted out by class, 4A/5A or A,B,C depending on what state you are in. The finals combine all classes (sometimes even prep divisions) inviting back the top 6 (typically, sometimes more sometimes less) to compete for the Grand Championship.
It is possible for the placements to change as a new panel of judges is typically assembled, and it is possible for the 1st place 4A choir to beat the 1st place 5A choir, visa versa.
I personally love the system- it adds a certain element of suspense knowing you can knock up your placement at night, or if you are in 1st- you better perform your absolute best to maintain the placement Sometimes, you don't even know your placement going into finals, just that you are top 6. That's always intense too
does anyone know what this top 4 finalists time slot from like 8 to 915pm is? the thing that happens before the awards?
The "Finals" is a Midwestern thing. The top four scores from the day get the chance to perform again for the judging panel. In the Midwest additional adjudicators are added to most judging panels bringing a fresh point of view on the contest.
Is that REALLY how you think it's gonna happen, tenor487? Brea beat both Clinton and Burroughs?
From what I heard at Aztec Sing Brea was quite close to beating Burbank. They are just as much in this running as anyone. I'm not going to call them beating Clinton and Burroughs, but if they do, I won't be incredibly shocked either- Just surprised
