After seeing FC this year, and knowing exactly how CLEAN their shows get by the end of the year, Not to mention how much vocal expression they end up with by the time march rolls around.... I think that they are going to use this win against NC (First time in FC history) to work harder than they ever have towards that GC:

GC: North Central: Choreo
1RU: Franklin Central: Vocals
2RU: Huntington North
3RU: Warren Central
4RU: Pike
5RU:Lawrence Central
6RU: Dekalb
7RU: Ben Davis (could do much better)
8RU: Plainfield
9RU: Lawrence North

as was said above...Dekalb isnt competing large mixed. they are a small school. they are going class B

I'm only going to list the top 6 now, because as far as i'm concerned, without plainfield and dekalb in the list, it's not really worth keeping it a "top 10 competition"

Just FYI... DeKalb is not a large school by the guidelines that were established this year. So when making your predictions, keep in mind that they are a "small school", and will not face off against most, if any, of these groups.

For those wondering... this year ISSMA considers a large school to be any high school that has 1700 or more students. Small then is 1699 and below. I'm assuming that if this catches on, they will break it down further in the future.

I think the rest of the schools that everyone has predicted so far are large schools by classification. It will be interesting to see which schools make it in both divisions this year!

Take care, and best of luck everyone!

well with Carmel gone and pike going...i still think NC and HN pull their shows together and become all that we expect from them. but i also expect Warren and Pike to keep improving.

GC: NC
1RU: Pike
2RU: HN/FC
3RU: FC/HN
4RU: LC/Warren
5RU: Warren/LC
6RU: Dekalb (i feel like they can go higher)
7RU: BD
8RU: Plainfield
9RU: LN

Also keep in mind that even though Pike is eligible for state, Pike has only decided to go to state once...and that was the first year for state. So it is very possible that Pike may not choose to go to state once again this year. I personally hope that they attend...but...we will see.

PIKE DECIDED THEYRE GOING TO STATE...or so ive been told could still be a rumor, but im pretty sure they decided they want to go, and im thinking they might be qualified, haha

Where is ISSMA going to be held this year?

Large schools are at Lawrence Central (I don't remember the school size cut off) and small schools are at Plainfield.

This kind of thing is absolutely ridiculous. This would be like my mechanic telling me where I can drive my car.

I don't know if that is the case in this situation, but having talked with many directors in the past regarding attending our competition, many of them say they can't come if another school that has the same choreographer is also attending. So while I agree it seems a little silly, it does happen.

Who is this choreographer? and why hasnt this happened in past years if this is true?

That is not the reason. Carmel is competing against some big shot choir on the same day. Maybe Clinton Attache. Not exactly sure. Just someone huge. So they are choosing to compete against them, instead of competing at state.

Just got word that Carmel will not be competing at state. Aparently they are going against some HUGE choir on the same day, so they won't be going to ISSMA state. Hmmm. Someone's too good for state? Ha. Petty grudges for past years. Sorry.

Okay.

NEW predictions:

GC: Franklin Central
1ru: Warren Central (They won't get the best visual scores, but their vocal scores will be better by MILES and state is 60% vocal 40% visual)
2ru: North Central
3ru: Pike
4ru: Dekalb
5ru: Lawrence Central
6ru: Huntington North
7ru: Lawrence North
8ru: Ben Davis
9ru: Plainfield

I know Pike has beaten Warren, FC, and North Central. However, I know when these choirs have been beaten in the past, they have made amazing changes and overcame.

Based on what I've seen this year, I'm giving my opinion.

GC: Carmel (Best visual)
1ru: Franklin Central
2ru: Warren Central (Best vocal)
3ru: North Central
4ru: Pike
5ru: DeKalb
6ru: Huntington North
7ru: Lawrence Central
8ru: Lawrence North
9ru: Ben Davis

The only choirs I haven't seen are Carmel and Lawrence North.

HOWEVER, this is still REALLY early in the year. Choirs can change. Get better. Or even get worse. So who knows. This is just an early prediction based on what I've seen in the last two weeks.
