Has anyone noticed the girl on twitter ranting about Albertville? Here are a few:

QUOTE

I guess the name "show choir" is a little misleading to Albertville...everyone else understands but you. #GoHome

QUOTE

I'm watching a musical at a show choir competition...this is a major problem. #GoHomeAlbertville

QUOTE

ATTENTION ALL SHOW CHOIR MEMBERS: the rules have changed. The group that spends the most money wins. And in 1st place...Albertville. #GoHome

I really don't like twitter, although it comes in handy for results sometimes. I just don't get why it seems every year there are people specifically in the Southern region that ridicule and ostracize Albertville. I mean, who do they think they are to define what is and what is not show choir? Based off of her tweets, I'm actually excited to see Albertville's show, because I appreciate creativity.

Congrats to all the groups there, but I would find it hard that the enterprise esprit would not be in the top two they have been a very good group since they began. But if that is the case way to go girls and to all the girl choirs you are all winners just for being there and showing what ya'll can do.

While we all have a bias for our home choirs, we must be completely unbiased when judging at competitions. As much as I would love for Albertville CenterStage to win every comp and sweep all captions I know that groups are sometimes better than them. I try to look at it as unbiased as possible and give honest opinions based on what I see.

I'm trying to contact someone to get women and small mixed results. Hopefully I'll know something soon!

I've heard via the twitter-sphere that Elan and Chanter received first and second, respectively, in the women's division, but I will wait until someone is able to provide more comprehensive women's results with captions and all that.

I know everyone loves the mixed groups but give the all girls groups some credit they work just as hard and all people talk about is the mixed groups. Yes the mixed groups are good but if you take away the boys there are only girls left. So give the girls choirs a big hand they deserve the same respect.

You're absolutely right. Every show choir, whether mixed, women's, men's, or middle school, deserves respect. Once the women's placements are posted, we will gladly be updating them above.

Finals predictions:

GC: Albertville(if their vocals are good)
1RU: Oak Mountain (GC if Albertville's vocals aren't good)
2RU: Opelika
3RU: Enterprise
4RU: Auburn (unless its a vast improvement over last year)

Just after hearing rumors and such! I'll make a more definitive list after I see the groups!

I think it will be interesting to see how this plays out! I feel like one group may shock many people. Not going to say who though, you'll just have to wait and see.
