Wow. I was at the competition tonight and it was not good. GCS placed 2nd, and as soon as they announced them as 1st runner up, Preble (the winners) were going absolutely nuts with cheering. If you would've seen the looks on the kids in GCS, your heart would have broken. One of the parents from Sauk told me, GCS was in 1st in the day round with best vocals (tied with Sauk) AND choreography. The show choir world is so unpredictable!
But really...the sportsmanship of Preble was not good in finals.
A "hat trick" is a sports term associated with the number three. So I assume what Torey was saying is that he is predicting GCS to win best vocals, best choreo, and best band. The show choir hat trick.
