i believe that titanium, although it may be a surprise to most, they are very good. that is why i have them above ATSC. i believe that it will be a very close GC, but i think they are going to do it. i have seen Millard Wests show and i believe that they will compete for 1RU but i think that ATSC will be too much for them. Free Spirit has been in finals at all but one competition this season so i think they are going to do well here. Harmonia Mundi has a show that they should cut down. i saw them at their competition and thought their show dragged on a bit. they should make finals though. SI has a solid show that should be enough for finals. all in all, this should be a very tough competition for all who are competing. good luck to all!
Just going off of previous results but Westside's prep group(i believe) beat out Rock Bridge for a finals spot at Pleasant Hill...so that is why I didnt have them in my predictions. I'm not trying to argue. Just saying why they are not in mine. I just dont think it is the same Rock Bridge group that we have seen the last couple seasons...
They've already competed this season? I just went off their roster for this season and it says that this their first competition. But if they've already competed and haven't done well than that might change things. But, unfortunately, I'm stubborn and will keep them as contender.

I don't think I need to explain about the top two since my thoughts have expressed in other posts.
I think 2RU-4RU should be VERY interesting. Millard West has been growing to become a strong Nebraska group in the past few years and seems to be doing well this season. Papillion La Vista BLEW me away last weekend at Heelan so I wouldn't be surprised if they got 2RU and Millard North has an impressive record this year also.
5RU should also be interesting. I think Ethan is right about Heelan starting off slow and then gradually picking it up. Personally when I saw them last weekend performing exhibition, I was unimpressed. The vocals weren't exactly strong and the choreography seemed only decent. BUT. They'll probably pick it up and make a strong run for finals. I also put Rock Bridge as a potential contender for finals. I think I'm the first to predict them for finals. I remember Rock Bridge being a fairly strong group in the past so I think they can step it up and blow the crowd away, they probably have a chance too!

Ummm ATSC will most likely win this. Expecially after beating Mitchell and Totino Grace in consecutive weeks. The only thing that ATSC might not bring home is choreo but they will definatly be in the running. I went with rockbridge to challenge them earlier this year and then rock bridge didnt make finals so they arent in my prediction. The final 3 spots will be between SI, WIG and Harmonia.

Perhaps I have a different criteria for downvoting than most people on here. I don't downvote someone because I disagree with the opinions they state. I downvote someone when I think they state their opinion in a crass/rude way or are displaying opinions that run so strongly counter to fact that they are ridiculous. I disagree with bbean2013's predictions, but Titanium is a good show choir and believing that they can beat ATSC isn't an insane proposition. I'm not the moral authority on downvotes here on SCC but I urge you not to click that little thumbs-down button simply because you disagree with what they said.

Actually they can....a sweep is when a GROUP wins best vocals, choreography and band. I dont mean to be rude but what kind of sweep were you thinking of? If you mean by winning the top 3 spots icwould have said WESTSIDE sweep not ATSC sweep...this was on my ipod so excuse any typing errors

Everyone so far but me has put SI in finals. Am I the only one confused by this? Either leaving out Millard North or Bishop Heelan, two typically stronger groups.
I mean, I guess I don't think it's impossible for SI to overcome one of the varsity groups to take finals, but I'm curious as to what evidence you have to back up your claims? (Do keep in mind I haven't seen SI this year.) They finished 3RU at Ralston, yes, but above who? Westside's other prep group and a school that rarely makes finals (Bellevue)? I don't think this is enough to strongly take them into consideration for a finals spot at a much tougher competition than Ralston. And, in my opinion, it is definitely not enough to put them above two groups like Bishop Heelan and Millard North.
Heelan has only lost to Pella and Center Point Urbana. Two strong 3A Iowa groups who can (and have) competed with and beaten 4A groups this year (Pella beat CPU, CPU beat Muscatine). Millard North has beaten Elkhorn South, Ralston, etc.
I just don't understand the logic of putting SI in front of these groups. Of course with my luck I will be eating my words. And I don't mean to come off as rude to the members of SI who see this. For being a women's group, your show clearly is fantastic. I just seriously don't understand, can someone explain this to me? (Other than the fact that I'm pretty sure we have a couple of Westside homers on here.)

Also looking at history, nebraska groups other than ATSC, LSW(sometimes), GISH(sometimes) GINW(sometimes) and Free Spirit(sometimes) have trouble sustaining success multiple years in a row. Yes titanium had success last year I just dont think that it has carried over into this year as well. I also did research on this year so far. I think the battle for the top spot will be quite interesting if, and only if, Papio South hasn't gone down from the past couple of years. I haven't seen or heard much of Papio South other than they won a GC this past weekend at GISH. If they are equal to or better than their show last year, I could see them taking vocals, choreography, and the GC. But something in me is telling me that they aren't quite up to par as their show last year or the experience of ATSC, so I'm putting Westside in the top spot. But I wouldn't be surprised to see Papio South steal a caption or two.
The 2RU battle is also going to be great. Millard West seems to be up from last year, grabbing 3RU at Urbandale and 1RU at GISH since missing finals in their first competition at UNL (which was very difficult). Papillion La Vista is finally back....ish. Still not the group they were when I was in middle school/early high school, but LOADS better than the past couple of years and they're coming off an impressive showing at Heelan, finishing 1RU. I'm still going to give the 2RU nod to Millard West though.
Millard North and Heelan should be the last two spots. Millard North had a very strong showing at Millard West's competition, finishing 1RU and taking best band. This group has really come onto the scene the past couple years. I could actually see them finishing as high as 2RU if they have a lights out show. But for now I'll leave them at 4RU. Bishop Heelan has only competed once (to my knowledge) and finished 2RU behind two very strong 3A schools. They've had time to work on and perfect their show, and I could see them moving up from my placement. Harmonia Mundi has been known to start kinda slow and finish strong and this is about the time of year they usually begin to make that transition.
The previous predictions have SI in the mix, but I just don't believe they will have what it takes to compete with the six groups I listed. Though it would be awesome to see it happen; I love when underrated [prep] groups jump into finals.
