This will be very interesting. Depending on the judging at Findlay (which I hate) it could either way...Haven't seen a lot yet, but I predict finalists will be:

Center Grove
Marysville
Olentangy
Nitro
Medina/Garfield Heights/Beavercreek

Can't wait to see!

Prediction:
GC- Center Grove
1RU- Marysville
2RU- Olentangy
3RU- Beavercreek
4RU- Garfield Heights
5RU- Nitro

Vocals- Marysville
Choreo- Center Grove

I do think it will be interesting to see how Nitro places. Because they just came out of no where and beat both Piqua and Dekalb. I'd be curious to see if judges at FFE see things the same way BCreek judges did.
Anyway, GOOD LUCK TO ALL GROUPS! This lineup seems to be a good one

Your leaving Medina out??? But puting beavercreek and garfield in front of them????? And there is only 5 spots in finals

What's with all the negativity & poor sportsmanship? Nitro's show is very different, and you either love it or hate it, but as we all know, you don't necessarily have to love the concept to appreciate the talent. How many of you have performed shows that you weren't crazy about? We all have! That being said, I want to congratulate Nitro for their grand championship. I'm sure they've been around long enough to know things can change when competing against different groups & with different judges; however, you don't win Grand Champion without much, much talent and hard work, especially against the awesome groups I saw at Beavercreek! You have much to be proud of, and I think I speak for most of us here, Congratulations on a job well done!!!!!

Ron Morgan didn't only judge choreography.. He judged vocals and show concept too.. The program misled many people.... The 2 Vocal judges and Choreography judge scored vocals, choreography, and show concept... And I'm not assessing Ron Morgan.. He is a good judge, but he had to watch 3 aspects of the show instead of 1, so he couldn't concentrate on choreography like he normally would....

I hate that this competition misleads parents and schools by not letting them know in the programs that the judges don't just judge one category...

It's very misleading...

And I'm not attacking David Legg and his entire career, I just believe that his material has become more theatrical, and crazy.. And not inovative and new... If I wanted to go to the theatre, I would do just that... He has a brilliant career as a whole, and that is why he is a judge at competitions... Don't take my comments the wrong way..

I will not say that David Legg is not an accomplished choreographer because he is, but he has of late become a novelty choreographer... With the lineup of the competition judges wise, I don't believe they will score well... At this competition, There were 2 vocal judges and 1 choreograpy judge.. But all 3 of them judged everything but band....

It's completely different at Findlay.. 2 judges just do vocals, 2 just do choreography, and one judge only does show concept, and with the judges lineup it does not sit well for nitro.... They will most likely be 5th, or 6th and miss finals... I just found out there is only 5 spots in finals here... There are a lot of ties to the groups and judges that i predicted were 1-5... And they don't score well, with some of these judges.... I say they will be 6th.. right behind bishop luers who will be 5th.

But my meaning of true choreography judge meant, ONLY JUDGING CHOREOGRAPHY.... This means that the judge has to concentrate on only one area, not 3, which doesn't bode well for nitro..

Revised Finalists (in order)

Centergrove
Marysville
Olentangy
Medina
Bishop Luers

I'm going to edit this post and just say, Nitro is enjoying their win this past weekend. However, they also know that only hard work and dedication can keep them in the finals. They are ready to accept whatever happens with grace and diginity--win or lose. We want to wish all the groups attending the best of luck.

I thought the show was entertaining at Beavercreek, but very different, and everyone will NOT love this show... A true choreography judge will probably be a little more difficult on the choreography than that of Beavercreek's competition.

What exactly constitues a true choreography judge? I was not at Beavercreek, and I'm unaware of whom composed the judging panel, but I'm curious as to what you think qualifies a person to accurately judge a show choir's choreography.

David Legg has choreographed very successful show choirs for years. St. Albans has enjoyed some good seasons with him on staff, and his Poca groups of yesteryear were quite accomplished.

I don't think you can put Nitro into the "Powerhouse" category yet... They won one competition, and not by a lot... One panel may say one thing, and at Findlay they could miss finals... Some people think I'm crazy to think this, but it could happen.... I don't think it will, but I think they will be toward the bottom of the finalists... I thought the show was entertaining at Beavercreek, but very different, and everyone will NOT love this show... A true choreography judge will probably be a little more difficult on the choreography than that of Beavercreek's competition... But here are my predictions...

GC: Centergrove
1RU: Marysville
2nd RU: Olentangy
3rd RU: Medina
4th RU: Bishop Luers
5th RU: Nitro

I believe Bishop Luers will come out upset and pissed for being left out of finals, they had great vocals and will be a player in this competition... Nitro will come back down to earth, and have to bounce back for West Virginia State's....

They have awhile until they become a "Powerhouse" but they will prove they are a true competitor.
