ok this was my first time at the WWS comp and let me just say... WOW. everyone that I came into contact with from WWS was so nice and had everything completely under control. everyone was so professional and whenever i asked the hosts a question, they knew the answer right away. food was great and the parents/volunteers were awesome too. don't even get me started on wheaton's show. phenomenal. so unbelievable.

easily the most intense competition i've ever attended and the prelims results threw me for such a loop. i loved it! congrats to all the groups. such an amazing day.

If you have a problem, please confront the person not the public. And saying you would take a congratulations away from a group due to one person isn't very polite. No matter what place anyone takes, you always congratulate them because as show choir kids, that's what we do. Maybe I just think differently but I would personally never ever degrade a group for winning because of a poor choice of words on a Facebook status.

I'm really not looking to start an internet "fight" over this. I wanted simply to discuss why it was wrong.

I've left this person anonymous, they deserve that much. However, if they feel like flaunting their poor attitudes for all to see, they should be prepared for some reactions.

If you'd like to continue this in private, please feel free to message me.

Otherwise, I'm sorry that this person has damaged your group's image.

This was an INTENSE competition.

Mt. Zion danced insanely well and Omaha's vocals were stunning! However I thought groups like Prospect, Omaha, and Totino out sang Mt. Zion... And groups like Mt. Zion and Totino out-danced Omaha. See the common thing here? ... Totino. Totino had a balance of dancing and singing where Mt. Zion was SUPER strong in choreo and Omaha SUPER strong in vocals.

Just a thought.

Congrats to all the performing groups. This looks like it was an amazing competition! I am a huge fan of these groups and wish I could have been there to see this intense "battle of the bigs" so to speak.

Poor sportsmanship in a public setting? I would agree. It is not necessary.

My sharing this with SCC? I feel it was necessary. It's a show choir issue that is worth discussing.

Celebrate in a negative way in private all you want, as soon as it's public, it's not right.

I would like to thank everyone at wheaton warrenville for putting on an amazing competition and making this the perfect way to end my senior year <3

After seeing a Totino performer's facebook status, I am rather upset. So upset that I'm considering taking back my congratulations. Sometimes people REALLY need to watch what they say. I'm furious.

Not necessary.

From what our director told us:

ATSC had three 1st place votes and the highest point total after finals. However, the judges' rankings went through some funky averaging system (we also got 3rd and 4th place votes) that ended with Totino as GC.

What are you shocked about?

With your school association, I will make this clear: I, along with the majority of people I'm sure, are NOT shocked that Totino Grace won. They are a fabulous choir and definitely deserving of a grand championship placing. So do not for a second think that I believe they should not have won. It is just the captions, mixed with daytime placings, threw everyone for a loop.

Rather shocked. Do they deduct points for wardrobe malfunctions?

I don't think I've ever heard a competition or judge who has deducted for malfunctions like that, only for the way the choir/performer responds. Sort of like the whole "if there's hair in your eyes, don't touch it" rule, you know?

also,

Just guessing, but probs the scattered captions. It's rather rare and shocking!

Wow! That's so crazy. Congrats Totino! One of my few show choir wishes has come true. I love seeing scattered captions, it just shows how intense the competition was. I can only imagine the excitement of hearing the captions go to other choirs, then realizing that you still came out with a GC.

Congratulations to all groups, I still wish I could have been there!

Can someone explain a little bit about finals, I did not get to watch and just want to hear someone's take on the outcome since I'm seeing some confusion.

I can't wait to see the judge break down... I have a feeling that this was not a consensus.... had to be really close.

But a huge cograts to Totino Grace my all time favorite choir!!!
