Xtravaganza split Saturday night's advanced mixed division into two when announcing awards. This event page now reflects that.

That’s sweet

It was roughly a large/small split. Glendora won the advanced mixed - large, Hart won the advanced mixed - small.

Both of Kennedy’s advanced groups were terrific. I’m excited to have another school compete at Tier 1!

I’m excited to see them compete against the big three I could see them steal show away and maybe pull off a win. I do hope their director has them compete out of state soon

Burbank went on Friday at their competition, too. I’m with you, but there just isn’t enough time with the way the schedules are so packed.

I wonder why soundwaves , decis and men@work are going but not oh or ss. Since men@work has a lot of ph boys I find it strange

Powerhouse and Sound Sensations have an out-of-state trip; this competition serves in its place for the other Burroughs choirs.

Woo baby. Time to kick this one off.

58 show choirs over three days. One venue.

Thursday
8:50pm - Los Alamitos "Soundtrax" (exhibition performance)
9:15pm - Day One awards

Friday
8:00pm - Day Two Middle School awards
10:15pm - Los Alamitos "Sound FX" (exhibition performance)
10:50pm - Day Two High School awards

Saturday
1:05pm - Morning awards
7:20pm - Afternoon awards
11:30pm - Evening awards

Just to be preemptive, yes, there are multiple divisions of the same class of choirs. This is a Los Al thing and has been oft-discussed. As far as I know it comes down to the limited size of their theater and wanting all groups of a single division to be able to watch each other. Since they can't fit all of the groups from a single tier into their theater all at once, they just split the tiers into multiple divisions of the same type and score them separately.

Saturday will run from 7:30am until 11:30pm (awards start time) with no exhibition performances that day. Bring your energy drinks.
