I want to say thank you to Wheaton Warrenville for coming to Minnesota- I know you kids don't post, but hopefully some of you will see this. We had both of our groups in the gym to see your finals performance- and I think every single one of them was glad we did.

You are truly a class act in every sense of the word- you were friendly and supportive the entire day- we shared our steamers, and your parents and girls were all very sweet to our parents. You were in the gym watching groups whenever you could be, and you seemed just genuinely happy to support other groups.

Your show is simply fantastic- your vocals are stunning from beginning to end, especially with 43 singers on stage. You dance with so much energy and confidence, your band supports you so well, and what I love most about you- you have an incredible sense of connection with each other as performers. There are so many moments throughout the show where the audience gets to see how much you love being up there together- it's refreshing and endearing, and I'm so happy our kids got to see that in another show choir. We were so excited to be competing with you again, and you did NOT disappoint. The results may have, but you did not- you are truly a championship group, and anyone you share your talents with should feel honored. I know we did.

Thanks to Aaron Olson, and everyone at Waconia- we had a great time yesterday- especially during the ridiculous light show! Oh Aaron, what would Minnesota show choir be without you?! Luke and I loved it! As always, we had WONDERFUL hosts- can't wait to see you girls again in a few weeks!

I agree with John, you had the best costumes of the day. Can't wait to see you at Spectacular!

yeah - that's me. i TOTALLY said that after bemidji walked off stage. they were just such cool outfits! btw i also thought ALL your soloists and that trio (yeah!) was amazing! i'm gonna stop now - i already commented some!

Thanks for the great competition. It ran very smoothly and everyone from waconia was VERY helpful. I wish I could comment on other people's shows, but the only one I saw was waconia, (which I really enjoyed) and a little bit of Jefferson's guy's number through the windows lol (we were right after them) I'm hoping I'll be able to see jefferson at totino. You guys are always my favorite. Overall, great competition.

Wow, what a competition! It was nice coming back to compete here after 2 years The groups I saw were FANTASTIC (every one of them), so I really had no clue who would make finals.

Waukee: First off, CONGRATS! Its amazing when a group can make such a huge leap in finals, and I know you did because I saw your finals show, and it was incredible! (love the "dinosaur" song!!). The choreography was also very clean, and its nice to see other Mike Weaver groups in competitions. Congrats on the Best Choreography award!

Bemidji: I basically am in love with your show choir (lol). A bunch of us went and sat up front with the La Voce Ballo girls and screamed our lungs out ;) The choreo was SUPER clean, and I loved all of the sweet costume changes you had. Lol, is it just me, or do the guys always wear a type of tank top as one of their outfits? I agree with John, you had the best costumes of the day. Can't wait to see you at Spectacular!

Wheaton: My favorite show of the day for sure! I know you know how incredible your ballad is, but I'll just tell you anyway: it gave me chills basically the entire time. The blend was so perfect and the tone was so pure....it made me very happy to hear vocals like that. I actually had you pegged for Best Vocals and was shocked when you didn't get it. Your choreography is also very clean, and the show was full of energy! I don't think we get to see you again, so good luck the rest of your season!

Walhert: I didn't get to see your show yesterday, but I've heard great things about you all season. Congrats!

Johnston: After competing against you quite a bit, I STILL haven't had a chance to see your show! Darn. And I heard lots of great things about you, especially about your show design overall. Congrats!

Bloomington Kennedy and Bloomington Jefferson: I was quite confused when I didn't hear your groups named as finalists. From what I'd heard about your groups, you are phenomenal. We were more than a little scared of you going into yesterday (lol). Unfortunately TG didn't get to see you because we performed between your shows, but I heard you both had fantastic sound and clean choreography. I know its hard when you don't make finals (we actually understand that this year), but don't let that bring you down. You are very talented groups, and I know you will continue to do well the rest of the season.

Waconia: Awesome show! Very creative! Your opener was really cool, and the added light effects made it even cooler! Thank you so much for all the hard work you did to make the competition run smoothly. Thank you to our room hosts, you were so great! You were right about the food--it was delicious!! Lol.

Congratulations to everyone on a great job yesterday, and good luck the rest of the year!

Thanks to Waconia for a great time yesterday. Obviously not being in finals was a downer but we still had tons of fun.

I saw every group in AA during PRELIMS (except Holmen, NSP, Johnston) and have some stuff:

Totino: Congrats on how you did but to be perfectly honest, I didn't have you in first or second. After prelims, you were my #5. I guess my main thing with the show was detail stuff. Your opener was very nice but it seemed like the diction overrode the actually pitch and tone of the song."Shake that Tambourine" was visually fantastic but I just wasn't tremendously impressed with the vocals. The closer didn't do it for me either. It just felt kind of like you were trying to do something original but it just came out odd and confusing. HOWEVER, you sing your ballad extremely well and you all have great stage presence.

Waukee: I thought this show started out great. I loved the opener through ballad. The end of the show was kind of foggy and sloppy though. Your ballad is beautiful and dynamically interesting (I love the song, probably since it was our ballad last year) Guys number was really cool. Congrats on your win!

Dubuque Walhert: Great show! Where did you guys come from? Loved the opener. Your guys have a great sound! And you have very accurate diction. It takes a lot of work to go at 10:30 and make finals.

Wheaton: It was a pleasure to watch your show. You sing so well and have so much fun on stage. The ballad was fantastic especailly when you bring it back up in the end. Opener was also good. Your show really pulls in an audience. Keep doing what you're doing!

Bemidji: YOU WERE GREAT. I thought that your show was the most visually appealing and vocally dynamic show all day. Your diction in the ballad was perfect. The opener was just fantastic. Your girls have an amazing sound. THE ONLY THING I HAVE IS: Vertigo choreo didn't fit the song. I would have liked to see more gut and rock star stuff. Otherwise, awesome show. You were my #1 after prelims.

BKennedy: Obviously, not making finals was not fun (especially by on 1 1/2 pts.) But I had no doubt you would be in finals. I love your show and had the chance to talk to a couple of you after prelims and you all are so nice. I hope to do great at all your competitions and see you next year!

BJeff: I love your show. I really do. You guys are great performers and great people. You guys IMO, should have been in finals. I hope you do great at Nashville this year.

I don't know, I guess the judges had completely different taste than me. This is how I had finals breaking down in order:

1. Bemidji
2. Wheaton
3. Bloomington Kennedy
4. Bloomington Jefferson
5. Totino-Grace
6. Waukee/Dubuque Wahlert

(Keep in mind I didn't see Johnston)

ANYWAY--Congrats to all!

this competition was really fun!
There was so many good groups, which made it outrageously competetive.

THANKS!!!!! We had so much fun. Waconia was such a great competition! LOVED the food. You aren't kidding when you call it " star" power. We really loved it. It was a great feeling to even make finals being among such great show choirs in the midwest. Our prep group also won so it was nice for them to perform again in the same place as us. Thankyou so much for having us again. As a senior, its a moment I'll never forget

Congrats to Waukee, way to represent Iowa well.

Big congrats to Totino Grace, you guys are just gunnin for everyone who beat you at Onalaska (j/k)
But you seem to have improved leaps and bounds and can't wait to see you at Kennedy next weekend.

Also, congrats to Bemidji for the placing. You usually always have such a fun show, i am sad I won't be able to see you this year.

Hey Ana, I think you should type us up some scores

wow - i'm so happy we got to go to this competition this year! i'm not gonna lie - i was kinda shocked with the absence of the bloomington's in finals and the shifting that occured during finals - but i am so happy and excited from seeing all these amazing groups!

WW- i FINALLY got to see you guys! i couldn't at onalaska - but i absolutely LOVED your show! i know you must hear this often but you have one of the best ballads i have ever heard! WOW! Hastings didn't stay for finals, so I am basing the following off of what I saw of prelims...

Jefferson- Finally, I've gotten a chance to see your show, and i really enjoyed you guys. It had a nice flow and awesome soloists (coughDREWcough) lol...

OASC- I think by now you know how I feel about you folk, the only things I noticed were a sound thinger, and a dress thinger. the sound was really live in the gym, so live, in fact that a tenor in the front row was in front of a reaallllllly hot mic, (matias? it was a really awesome voice btw) anyways, that's not your fault. I still <3 you folk, and thanks for the hugs : )

Totino- awesome as usual, I hadn't had the chance to see your show either yet this season, and I really enjoyed the transitions and the music that was chosen. Also, thos e puppets are gorgeous

Waconia- fantastic competition, I am really pleased that our preps got to come see it. Our hosts were amazing and the venue to me was jsut phenomenal. kudos!

happy saturday everybody : )

Can i just say this competition is probably the most amazing competition i have ever been too every group in finals deserves to be there........ they are the excact 6 that i perdicted to get in......... im really not super dissapointed we didn't make it..... i thought we gave it a great run it would have been sweet to make it but all the groups in are un believeable.

WW: Probably the best balad i have ever heard it almost made me cry and gave me shivers up and down my body.

Totino: Like always i loved your show, you are the group that i was probably most excited to see your shows are always changing and always cool...the tamborine song was unbelievable and your closer is probably one of my favorite songs i have seen you guys do.

Waukee: I had always heard you were good but never got to see you but seeing you today just strengthened that.... your show was awesome the little like push up turn thing was super INTENSE!!!!

Bemidji: My favorite show of the whole day...... i remember you last year being good but this year blew me out of the water.... from start to finish i was in total awe and was super entertained by your show

Johnston: you were the one finals group i didnt get to see but all i heard were good things

Impulse: I also loved your show it was super energetic from start to finish and was the very first show i saw of the day and it was a good one to start my day and get my show choir fix....

Over all i think this is like one of my favorite competitions....... Powerhouse 1. great show the lights were sweet and the over all show was so cool and 2. you put on a very well run show and i will want to return next year to cheer shows on and watch it get even bigger.....

P.S if there are any notes for Northern lights i always like to get feed back so just hit me up and GREAT JOB EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!
