If my memory serves, this is oddly similar to how the Classic ended up in 2004:

GC: Mt. Zion
1st Runner-Up: GCS
2nd Runner-Up: Eisenhower
3rd Runner-Up: Totino-Grace

4th Runner-Up: Franklin Central
5th Runner-Up: Buffalo Grove

Weird!!!

even more interesting considering Showstoppers Chicago 2004...

GC: Buffalo Grove
1RU: Mt. Zion
2RU: Eisenhower
3RU: John Burroughs
4RU: Davenport West

basically.... who knows with this competition. except: Buffalo Grove = finalist lol

Nice to see the schedule... like I said before, this competition is absolutely stacked.

Wonder how early we'll have to get up to make the four hour drive and perform at 10:20 " border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

It's not quite 4 hours from CR to Onalaska, more like....3 hr. 20 minutes. even on a bus.

From the eight people that have posted predictions... I have computed what the general consensus is.

3/4 of the predictions had the same 6 groups in finals...
Buffalo Grove, Eisenhower, Mt. Zion, Omaha Westside, Totino Grace, Wheaton Warrenville

The other two that didn't have all six groups in finals had Johnston in over one of the six.

This is what the general consensus is-

Grand Champion- Mt. Zion
1st Runner Up- Eisenhower
2nd Runner Up- Wheaton Warrenville
3rd Runner Up- Totino Grace
4th Runner Up- Omaha Westside
5th Runner Up- Buffalo Grove

Best Vocals- Buffalo Grove, Totino Grace, or Wheaton Warrenville
Best Choreography- Mt. Zion (3/4 of people think they'll take this caption)
Best Band- Totino Grace

YAY! A SCHEDULE! AWESOME! I'm so excited, we get to see SO many groups b/c we go earlier on!

Hey Ana, do you know if they have a schedule for the choir competition on the Friday before? Chamber's competing in it, so I just wondered when we went.

Thanks for putting this up!!

I would also like to see a schedule for the choir competition. De Pere is performing at that!

while this is something that doesn't really need to be argued you definitely are wrong about that. I am in Pete's top choir and he arranges music for our choir and for all of our combined choir concerts... not once have i ever heard an arrangement of his where the choir went into perfect unison.

anyways.... i'm just saying that i don't believe Johnston has had enough consistent success to be for sure considered a finalist, especially with a new director. and the point that the song was from 2001 is actually making my point. it is a song that was done while Johnston was still one of the top groups in Iowa, and also it is one of the songs that any choir could do and have a successful year with. Too Darn Hot is just one of those songs that always boosts scores.

Whatever. I'm not saying that there is no way Johnston will make finals. I was just stating my thoughts, which I believe are grounded in at least some fact. its not like i just pulled that out of the air.

Ankeny in 2003
Ankeny in 2004-now

look up the top 6 predictions for VA in those years, and i'm sure finding johnston amongst other good show choirs isnt that hard to believe. especially with the direction they are under now.
i've seen them run thru their show and, ill just say im excited for people to see them

Adam, there are simply too many "Adam's" to call them all "Adam".

LoL

so I made it clear to which Adam I was referring... cuz he's my ride. (Hopefully.. I don't thinkI talked to him about this yet... I kinda just assumed. With out asking. hrm...)

Unless of course You Adam want to take me back!
