I’m curious to see how jbhs soundwaves and Los Al connexions do head to head since they both won in their sessions at Burbank blast. They both have strong shows season.

I am very happy to announce that showchoir.com will be producing a live stream for this event! Tune in for standard coverage Friday and Saturday afternoons, and a very special expanded evening session on Saturday night, hosted by the one and only Bradley Davis! This live stream will be FREE for all viewers! Specific times and more details to follow.

I have received word from a reliable source that Broken Arrow will no longer be attending this competition

I am so sorry to read this. I was planning a huge surprise for our out of town friends. Nothing can be said that will make up for the disappointment I know your groups are feeling, but please know how excited we were to get to see you all.

Hart will be THE competition to be at this year! I know these schools will be in attendance:
Broken Arrow
Burbank
Eisenhower
Glendora
John Burroughs
Los Alamitos
I'm excited to see how Broken Arrow does while competing against all 3 top tier choirs!!

Los Al and Burroughs are going to be so tired of seeing each other by the time comp season is over.

What a great lineup! I wonder why there is not a prep division.

Cooper- California doesn't really do "prep" divisions, but essentially have that built into their tiers. The tiers are the choir's self-reported skill level (advanced, intermediate, novice). It looks like BA's Tiger Rhythm is performing in advanced (Tier I) while Tiger Momentum is competing in intermediate (Tier III). For the California choirs that do have a second (or third) group in their high school, they generally do compete in the Tier III/Tier IV areas (ex. Burroughs and Los Al's second mixed group is also in Tier III... but a different Tier III than Broken Arrow ).

Thank you! I appreciate that! I have not gone to many big-name comps! Tiger Momentum is usually prep so I got confused. Thank you for the confirmation! )

I should point out that it's quite uncommon to have two divisions of the same tier at a competition like this and I can definitely see how that is confusing. It was discussed on another event a little while back, but the consensus was that it's just a way for a competition to allow everyone in a division to be able to watch each other when space is a limiting factor. Presumably, they can't fit all ten choirs and their supporters from Tier III in the auditorium at one time, so this gives each "set" of groups a chance to cheer on the others and see everyone they are competing against. Don't worry about the labels, though... as Jeff pointed out, several of the groups in Tier III are the second mixed choir at their respective schools - essentially no different from "prep" groups anywhere else.

I kinda wish more prep groups would come out to compete is cool to get new groups against the tier 1 and 2 advanced groups. Is fun to see new groups give the intermediate choirs a run for their money. Please have a safe trip to La. Also make sure you parents are also making sure you eat food and drink water and rest.

My understanding is that each separate division listed above will have a separate set of awards, so one for each grouping of Tier III choirs, and one for each grouping of Tier IV choirs.
