Hey guys! today’s competition was amazing! not trying to boast but i received best male performer and my name is Simbiti Wright! just putting it out there because i know it’s not the easiest name!
I will be up bright and early in the morning to get you all the best remedy for your "show choir" hangover. The podcast "SouthernShows" Exclusively on sound cloud, will cover the results of this competition among others that occurred in the south tonight. Get home safe and get some rest. Congrats to the groups that competed, Love you all, and see you soon.
Yes, I thought most of the groups sang powerfully and beautifully today. . You must’ve been sitting front row with hearing aids and your hands cupping around your ears towards the speakers because we had different experience for sure
Crestview “Destiny”
Such a small choir (only 17 singers). I appreciated the light tone used in your higher parts. It was also super interesting to hear a show choir with only piano accompaniment.
Auburn “Men at Work”
WOW! It is amazing to see 40 boys singing, dancing, and having a good time. Such a fun show—and the crowd went WILD. The overall vocal sound was also very good. I was totally blown away.
Petal “Innovations”
Your sound is incredible! So unified and balanced. Make sure to keep vowels tall, even in the lower parts. EXCELLENT theme! And WOW Aretha Franklin soloist at the end!
Pearl River Central “Illumination”
I am now totally blind because of the lights. Sometimes the tone is very heavy which affects the blend. Well-polished show overall.
Auburn “Elan”
Emotionally-moving show with a number of beautiful moments. Powerful and inspiring. Be careful of shouting in the loud sections.
Enterprise “Esprit”
Excellent and desirable tone quality—nice and light and well-blended in the mid range. Great balance between vocal parts. Choreography could be cleaner overall.
My personal placements would be:
1st: Petal
2nd: Enterprise
3rd: Auburn women
Although, I would also personally give Auburn men a GC trophy. Because they were awesome.
