Such a great competition yesterday. Wish I could have seen the B division compete, but I heard great things! Major props to clover hill for an amazing performance, it blew everyone away. Great vocals, and you guys danced HARD. Well-deserved win! best of luck with the rest of your season!

other shoutouts to thomas dale and manchester, your shows were fantastic as well. manchester, i loved your theme, and your ballad made me teary-eyed.

As a side-note, I was really impressed with sportsmanship yesterday. Everyone was supportive of ALL of the choirs. It was so nice to just be able to enjoy everyone's shows and cheer them on.

Overall a great experience at Powhatan! Sad it's my senior year and I won't get to compete on that stage anymore, but what a great note to end on.

I was so excited to see the other choirs from this area. It was wonderful to see all the different shows. As a member of clover hill's new dimensions I can not wait to come back today to support our girl group iri. Good luck to them and all the other girls groups!

Great job everyone (: I had so much fun watching!
Hopewell Unlimited Voices, you guys blew me away! Clover Hill and Cosby, this was the first time I've seen either of you guys perform in a couple of years, and I was extremely impressed.
There are so many amazing groups and fantastic shows this year. It's so exciting (:

Side note to Manchester: I loved your show theme, and I absolutely adored your ballad. I'm a total daddy's girl, and I sobbed the entire time.

This will be one for the books in VA!
Likely one of the best/toughest competitions VA has seen in...years!
Top 3 MAY seem clear cut, three schools within 5 miles of each other, but ya never know...ALWAYS surprises in the good Ole Dominion.
Theres also Thomas Dale- who sing incredibly, inspiring performers, Atlee- always on point, well sung, Matoaca- fantastic band, big shows
I would not count out a non-chesterfield school...egh-em Amherst?! look what they have done in the past few years....
Menchville....becoming seasoned in "the game"- increasingly successful- WATCH OUT!

Good Luck to EVERYONE!
BREAK LEGS!

AND a BIG THANK YOU to POWHATAN HIGH SCHOOL and JAMES RIVER HIGH SCHOOL!!

FYI, it looks like Eastern View Innovation dropped out. The 2 earliest groups will go a little later, and the schedule is otherwise unaffected. I wish them luck as they finish their show!

Break a leg, all! Can't wait to see ya!

As of the most updated schedule (that I'm aware of), Cosby was moved to to the last performance slot, and everyone else was bumped up to fill the gap. So the Schedule, as of now, should be:

4:15pm - Atlee - Illusion
4:45pm - Bird - Sudden Image
5:15pm - Thomas Dale - Knight Scene
5:45pm - Clover Hill - New Dimensions
7:15pm - Manchester - Capital Swing
7:45pm - Amherst - Amherechos
8:15pm - Matoaca - High Impact
8:45pm - Cosby - Spotlight
9:15pm - James River - Anything Goes
9:45pm - JMU - Exit 245

Saturday

12:20pm - Patrick Henry - Essence
12:50pm - Amherst - Belles of Amherst
1:20pm - Douglas Freeman - Harmony in Motion
1:50pm - Bird - Reflections
2:20pm - Lee-Davis - New Horizons
3:00pm - Thomas Dale - Knightingales
3:30pm - Atlee - Serenade

6:30pm - Atlee - Elegance
7:00pm - Manchester - Touch of Swing
7:30pm - Clover Hill - Iridescence

I found out that Cosby is now going at 8:45 on Friday. Did they switch with Matoaca or were there more changes to the schedule?

sigh. i wish mixed groups were going on saturday. i have to work until 7 and it'd take me 40 minutes to get there from work. i'd just miss dale and clover hill. i may slide by though to see how things shake out.

I'm really excited about the line up! It will be great to see Patrick Henry and Varina again. Additionally I have the opportunity to see two show choirs I haven't seen before, Eastern View and Hopewell mixed (pretty sure I've seen their single gender group before).

I hope everyone has a great run this weekend! Everyone has worked hard and deserves to have a great show! Good luck!!

Since there are generally several more girls groups than mixed groups, it made sense in the past to switch to Mixed on Friday and Single Gender on Saturday. The administration likes to keep the school day as minimally impacted as possible, ya know?

Can't wait to see everyone this weekend!! Come to the light booth and say Hi!
