Does anyone know the results for 1999? I can't remember them but for some reason I feel it went like this:

GC: DeKalb
1RU: Cedar Rapids Kennedy
2RU: Cedar Rapids Washington

I can't remember the full results. I just have a picture in my mind of this because this was the first year Kennedy REALLY became successful. I remember Dr. Kreitzer telling me they were the group to be going in to all their competitions this year (including Showstoppers Nashville)

This looks right. I remember this somehow from seeing it somewhere.

Whatever happened to Mr. Fletcher? He really did accomplish some great things up there...

He left sort of amid scandal. A few of the parents were upset by how much show choir was costing them (I think it might have been $750 for the girls), and it was a big deal, including making the news back in the day. He told them that if they wanted a top flight show choir program, this is what they do, and let them make the decision. They chose not to have that level of show choir (I think it even may have been discontinued for a while), and he left. I am not sure what he is doing now.

Yes, around that time Western Dubuque's "5th Avenue" was one of the up and coming choirs, but perhaps more importantly, a great competition stop. Their choir, led by Tom Fletcher was darn good and as you can see, they played host to a number of amazing groups.

Adam, is it true that Davenport West will be returning to Western Dubuque after an extended absence? I had heard a rumor through the grapevine...

It's very well a possibility since Big Dance cancelled out on us.
