lol i swear I read earlier in the topic that Johnston isn't eligible for band awards....

Truth be told, Johnston and Waukee actually tied for best band with 95 points each but somehow the best band award was given only to Johnston. Seems like they should have given 2 awards.

because the hip hopish song they do after the ballad would be awkward in the 3 inch stilettos they start out in...theyre really tall...

I know no one probably cares about any of the schools that didnt make finals but my group UI beat papio for the first time in a long time we were STOKED (: YAY! That is all (: Personally I thought Kennedy shouldve won, I loved their show! Good job to everyone tho! And question, why does ankeny change shoes after the opener?

She was AMAZING!! Was the Best Male Soloist from Prairie or Kennedy? I ate during awards and nobody knew which school received BMS.

I'm sorry -- I don't know. We were still screaming for Marissa, who is every bit as humble and kind as she is talented!

It's great to see Waukee finally get the recognition they deserve! They have a fantastic show. They sing the crap out of it. Their 'Earth Song' is one of the best things I have seen on stage this season. The Bollywood closer is terrific. The band is great. Congratulations Millenium!!!

Go Innovation!

Now that it's official, I can add my (luckily) annual fun trivia fact - this year makes it 20 straight years that Innovation has made the finals at Urbandale (and something like 22/23 yrs in all - the only year I know for certain we missed was 1990 - sadly, because I was there...)

And congrats to Synergy on a great placement in what must have been a tough prep field.
