This competition has the opportunity to be extremely exciting. I think Grand Champ may be up in the air...as far as who will make the Finals, in no particular order of course (my own thoughts):

Petal
Onalaska
Wheaton Warrenville
Wheeling
Troy
Prospect

But if any of these schools has an off day, then it is completely up in the air. Any group can step up and have an outstanding performance that warrants them a finals spot!

GOOD LUCK TO ALL GROUPS ATTENDING!!! I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO AN OUTSTANDING DAY OF SHOW CHOIR!!!!

I thought the "Do Unto Others" mentality was pretty basic .. apparently someone didn't get that memo :|

So does anybody think that Wheeling will do better than sixth place?
That is even if they place!

What a lame post.

Someone needs to send out a pamphlets on proper posting etiquette that doesn't tear down groups.

I suspect if Petal is coming all this way again that they probably won't suck!

But the only time I saw them was at Chicagoland in 2004, and they blew me away. The best description is "total package" show choir. Solid vocals (though they were edged out by Prospect's Journey show that year), impressive choreography, and an overall great show. They were amazing, and I'm really excited to see them again.

Petal has always been very very very competitive with Clinton, MS. In 2003 they won best choreography over them at one competition (and anyone that's seen Clinton knows how clean they are!!!!) They usually sing well, and have great costuming, look for a great band, and good package. They had a rough start to their season this year it sounds like, but bounced back the next weekend to do great!

1) I'm an alum, so I can't exactly "ask my director" as someone suggested, because I don't personally know anyone going! Otherwise I would... really...
2) I'm a local Chicago resident who simply wants to attend...
3) This contest is just ONE WEEK away - that's the main reason for my frustration. I'm trying to make plans for this coming Saturday and am totally unable to. I'd just call the school, but that's a bother to them during a busy week leading up to a contest - and frankly, I thought that was what this site was great for - getting information like this out to the public!
4) Schedules have regularly been posted MUCH earlier than this for other events, so I'm curious what the hold up is for this one. If they don't have a schedule yet - well, I'd like to know! (but I find that HIGHLY unlikely).
5) If an obnoxious font finally gets an answer going - well, I don't think I'll apologize for that!

My point is merely there are more mature ways to get the ball rolling. In any event, there wasn't a schedule to be had.

But on that note, dig in.
