No way this storm lasts until Saturday. Driving back from the state wrestling tourney, we concluded that visability was approximately 1/8th of a mile " border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

We'll be fine though. 2 Weeks ago we'd only had 12 inches all year, it's just the easiest way to balance out.

OK, so it's a little snowy outside. Big deal. Show choir is more important than anything!!!
OK, maybe not but I think that Spectacular is gonna be awesome.
We have to think positively people!!!!!!!
I'm really excited because I get to host Urbandale's prep group.
I haven't seen Urbandale or their prep group yet this year.
Vitality, we're gonna have a blast.
I can't wait to meet all of you.
Have a safe drive.
I hope to see everyone at Spectacular!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!
2 days left!!!!!!!!!!

Spectacular is still a go! there are parents currently at Totino setting up. The administration will not allow any students in the building(im assuming liability issues), so now we all have the nigth off and have no idea what to do with ourselves...

(insert major freak-out here)!!!!!

I'm REALLY excited now because I was worried that it would be canceled. Oy. It's snowing soooo much. Our school got out at 11 this morning and I'm not entirely sure if there will be school tomorrow either.

I can't see out my window...It's pretty white out there. We had to cancel show choir practice tonight!! The world is coming to an end!! I've heard there has been discussion about Tim Pawlenty calling for a STATE-WIDE snow day tomorrow.

I shoveled my driveway an hour ago and it's already got another inch of snow on it, but at least we don't have tornadoes destroying high schools. Very dangerous down south now.

It's pretty gross out! BUT- it will be gone by Saturday, so no worries! The power of positive thinking.

And Jeff Temple, I expect you guys to put on some warm winter clothes and Von-Trapp it over the Iowa border to get up here if you have to. Maybe call Ankeny first and get the sheet music for My Favorite Things so you have something to keep spirits up while you walk.

Trust me...if there's anyway we can make it up there Woodin will make it happen.

They let us out of school early today (which means no rehearsals tonight) and have already said that we're starting late tomorrow. I-35 is closed right now from Ames to the Minnesota border. They said it might be closed for up to 24 hours which would force us to leave much later than we had planned. If I were a betting man (and I am actually) I'd wager we'll be there even if we have to leave at like 3:00 in the morning on Saturday as long as the system moves on through like they've said it will.

Minnesota takes very good care of it's roads in the winter. We probably won't even miss school because of this storm...

so i was wrong... we got out early.

and nick, for some reason i imagined the little gopher dancing in "Caddyshack" while reading your post.

Spectacular's gonna be a good one, trust me. Just look for the long haired bassist from Company of Singers and everything will be alright.

You know your in trouble if our superindent cancles school, because he NEVER does, no matter what, we had one today, but don't worry, mabey if we have one tomorrow too, AND it's still snowing Friday night, then you should be worried, otherwise the roads will be so clean you could eat off of them.

I truly hope that the competition is still a go. This has been a really bad season for show choir competitions in regards to weather. First Missouri was hit with massive ice and weeks of cancellations followed, then Iowa was hit with the same thing and cancellations followed. Illinois is now flooding everywhere due to the giant piles of snow melting and nowhere for it to go! (Mother Nature is confused my dears!) I know that Minnesota is used to harsher weather and I am thinking that their road crews will be on top of everything.

I know that for all you students this has probably been a frustrating season when you put so much work into your show and rehearse to perfection and you dont get a chance to perform!! (*Especially for the seniors). And to add to that the Directors of the competitions that have had to cancel and/or reschedule! The added stress/chaos/finacial loss I am sure is something that is not in your contract! Thank you all for trudging thru and making the best of the competitions that were able to continue with minimal groups, or for handling all the chaos in the midst of cancelling a competition and trying to accomodate judges, parents, disappointed students, left over decorations, food, stranded groups, etc!! A special thanks to the bus drivers who braved the weather and, I am sure we having mild coronaries, trying to get these kids where they needed to go! This has definitely been a season for the record books as "the season that almost wasn't". There is not much we can do--but for making the best of it with heads held high-THANK YOU!

Let me just say, that although I have to miss Spectacular (even though so many of my friends will be in attendance) that I love Totino and I would do anything to be there. Apparently my parents think a college audition holds more importance that TG Spectacular. Who do they think they are kidding??

HAHA that's how my parents were. They tried getting me to miss a competition... I was like are you kidding me?! I don't care....this is my last year of show choir and I'm going to all my competitions (and I did)
