Also I heard St. Albans is not going anymore is that true???????

St. Albans is not coming. They have backed out of three competitions this year. I have heard they did not even start to work on their show until their christmas show was done.

I think that Hurricane is going to be Grand Champs hand down, but the race for second is going to be the fight. I really do think people are overlooking Nitro this year. They only lost one senior last year and have a new group of freshmen that have show choir experience. I will give David Legg credit for the direction the group is taking this year. He is a fantastic choreographer and music arranger.

I want to wish all the group that will be attending good luck.

Antwon is a Mike protege ;) I think that's what you're getting at. but yeah I agree with the Solon statement about their show... From what I've seen and the comments from others it looks as though their show goes nowhere I hope they change that

dude some people are oblivous to stuff....I agree with Soundsation Medina will be a strong contender here.....they definately look better than they have visually and vocally as always they are amazing...to say anything else is just retarded and knows nothing about show choir anyone who was there would say that yes they were unclean but who wasnt INCLUDING twinsburg. But I am sure they will pull together a wonderful show! Also did anyone here that violinist play??? She was flippin amazing! I think they will take combo. Best of luck to everyone....

I also have to say Solon is not there usual selves this year....love that group but i am so not into thier show I hope they do well tho cause they are all so nice!!!!! Anyone know if they lost a bunch to graduation?

Also I have to say that the little dog Garfield will pull out the stops on this one.....when they perform they have hunger in eyes!

Also I heard St. Albans is not going anymore is that true???????

I would say:

GC- Hurricane
1- Medina
2- Garfield Hts (if St. Albans is going insert them here and push everyone down one)
3- Edgewood
4- Winston Churchill (last time i saw them they were pretty good but that was two years ago)
5-Solon

Medina's vocals are damn good.

BUT.

Please, don't insult me because of my opinion about Medina's choreography. Don't call me retarted because I have a difference in opinion with you. That's so lame, dude.

In my opinion - clean or sloppy ... their choreography is still pretty pathetic.

Antwon Chavis did a TERRIBLE job with their show this year. I haven't seen choreography that bad in a LONG while.

They look like a joke dancing up there. They repeat the same 5 moves throughout the entire show. There is nothing visually impressive or nothing that hasn't already been done five times. Antwon's choreography is recycled Mike Weaver choreography and everyone knows that.

Twinsburg and Solon were both clean at Medina, so I don't know what you're talking about. Heck Medina was even pretty clean, and it still looked terrible.

I mean you can argue that Medina's vocals will carry them up to the top three, I don't care - I agree with you there, but they will do nothing but lose points on choreography this year. One tiny factor that makes their choreography better is the fact that they do have impressive costumes, backdrop, and instrumental combo, and we all know that disguises a lot.

And this is going to be a very strong year for Solon. They did not lose many seniors at all in fact last year was their rebuilding year. They're going to be clean vocally and choreographically, I'm just worried that their song choice isn't going to take them very far this year, their opener and closer are kind of weird. Everything in between though is pretty darned good and I think they're lightyears better then they were last year, yet not quite up to par with the 2005 "I've Got the Music In Me" show.

Anyway, that is my opinion. I don't like your choreography Antwon, sorry.

Medina's vocals are nothing short of awesome. However, their show and choreography looks like every other show choir in the country that doesn't ever make finals. This is no exaggeration. The choreography for Medina is 10 times worse then it has been in past years. It was honestly the most bizarre thing watching them. I could not decide what I thought of them, they were so vocally pleasing, but they looked like a visual train wreck. They could fix this until the competition but most of the choreography was unfixable, I thought.

i dont think tat their choreography is too bad only because they have the same choreographer that we do and we use some of the same moves in our show. they have most of the choreography that we had last year and last year was our best year ever. idk, it is very possible for medinato fix all of it and if the choreographer has come in to fix stuff as he has for us, it is gonna look a whole lot better than when you last saw them.

Medina- The only reason Medina would be clean in past years opposed to this year, is the fact that their choreography (or lack thereof) was SO cleanable it was mainly armography... As this year is a different year for them they've decided to go with another well-known choreographer. I think this year will be a better year for them.

Solon- I haven't seen their entire show this year but I'm thinking their vocals are WAY better than previous years. However their show goes nowhere IMO.

Edgewood- This is the group I'm really looking forward to seeing...

Well first of all, I think this is going to be one of the most entertaining show choir competitions in ohio.. Fairfield, Garfield Heights, Twinsburg, and Cuyahoga Falls are on a completely different playing field.. Now my predictions are very unorthodox, but usually very close to the real thing... Not trying to be cocky, I just try to predict based on how judges will score, not how we think they should score.. This includes politics, favoritism, and talent... So here I go...

Grand Champion: Hurricane- Who else??? This is one of the premiere groups from west virginia
1st runner up: Medina- A big suprise??? One of the most consistent groups in every aspect in the state!!!
2nd runner up: Edgewood- Making a great comeback this year!!! This group will contend for championships this year!!!
3rd runner up: Solon- Unfortunately I believe that Solon has got progressively less impressive from year to year!!! I think this competition will be a huge wakeup call
4th runner up: Garfield Heights- One of the upcoming groups in the state!!! Will be contending for grand championships in the next few years!!! Everything a show choir should be!!!
5th runner up: This is my wildcard- I picking this group based on the fact that Mr. Legg is now doing the choreo... They will be a different group with a different style, and great energy... I say that Nitro High School makes a huge comeback and makes finals

Best Vocals: Hurricane
Best Choreography: Medina: I really have liked this group in the past, they bring a cinderella underdog story.... They always suprise people, and they are usually very clean...
Best Band: Hurricane

Well I guess only time will tell if my predictions are true!!! I'm definately going out on a limb when I picked Nitro, but I believe this will be one of the biggest turnarounds in the show choir world!!! And I'm the first say it!!! Good Luck Nitro, and good luck to everybody at the competition

There is alot of things that go into peoples predictions. I see this is your first post so I am going to help you out here.
SCC is a place to post your opinion and predictions. Not one person on here should be asked or talked to like they have a really bad prediction.
Don't ever take anything to heart
And I know, I've never heard of you, so its very possible. And what I hear from people about a group I tend to not worry about it too much, because you can hear a group is really bad, and that is personal opinion of someone. So basically, if you're not on there, just prove them wrong, and comps not having started just yet, they go off of last year.

Good luck this season.
