i hadn't heard anything about a change from last year so i didnt think there was a change... but im not 100% sure

I could have sworn that there were 6 finalists last year Jay. *shrugs* And we did beat Broadhead and then tied. And I am going to be the first to admit our vocals suck right now, we have spent hardly any time on singing. Choreo is alot cleaner than last year already, so... I don't care what happens, it will be a fun comp. any ways!

Are there for sure only 5 finalists?? I'd think that they would make 6 this year due to the amount of groups going. I think last year it was only 5 because there wasn't many groups there.

there are only 5 in finals...

i would agree with Hastings over Linn-Mar except i was just going off of when they went face to face. to me it all depends on the show. i missed Linn-Mar's first concert tonight so idk how they are yet. I know they have a really good junior class and a good senior class also. i also know Hastings graduated a large very talented senior class. also i think Linn-Mar has always had better vocals than Hastings but Hastings has better choreography... so i went to the Viterbo grading sheets!

Vocals are worth 100, Choreography 60, Band 50, and Other Factors are 50. Because Linn-Mar has better vocals in my opinion they would get GC just because of the scoring system (this is off of last year's scoring)

i went off of my Wisconsin groups purely based on how they did last year because i only got to see a few of them.... Monona Grove could easily make finals... so could Altoona in my opinion.... also Celebration beat Brodhead last year at Milton in the day round, so anything is possible with them! we'll see!

Linn Mar "Tenth Street Edition"
Eau Claire "Old Abe Show Choir"
Hastings "Riverside Company"
Brodhead "Guys and Dolls"
Milton "Choralation"
Ceder Rapids "Celebration"

I think it will be between these 6 for finals. I love them all so I would be happy with whoever won.

We've all got to think about how ready some of these groups will be... that's what I thought of when making my predictions.

Oh, I know. That is the hardest thing about this, this is the first comp. and... OMG, i can't wait. I am too crazy about this comp!

Come on people, more predictions! I won't take any of it to heart

Isn't Andrew Cao Hasting's choreographer?

The very same. My guess, then, is that he'll be doing critiques.

I would have to agree with this a bit more... but...

GC: Hastings "Riverside Company"

I am debating between Linn Mar and Hastings. I am going to put Hastings ahead just because I remember how good they were at Viterbo last year. But I can see the same groups as Jay. But there are also a few that can always surprise! haha

Hopefully, Celebration can pulll up agian this year, but also MUCH better groups than last year! Ha. Wishful thinking for my group, should be a sin blushing.gif

Well, I will have my camera this year to take LOTS of pictures of groups and cool people I meet.

-Stolba-

I agree... besides my finals predictions... I will put that I also agree Hastings will win.

We've all got to think about how ready some of these groups will be... that's what I thought of when making my predictions.

I also hope we will be in for some surprises this year. I hope Mayville surprises... I'd love to see them in finals!

Question- I thought I'd read somewhere in another thread that Holmen was back to having a small group on mics, and a girls group. So is Holmen's "Midwest Momentum" now the girls' group name, or is Holmen continuing to have a large group not on mics?
