yes, strangely enough. during my senior year the University of Illinois's marching band practiced on Marysville's football field, gave a joint concert with our marching band (of which i was a field commander), and then the students all stayed the night with different families from the marching band. since i played the alto saxophone before i began conducting, 4 sax players were sent home with me. it turned out that one of the guys had been in show choir, this subject was of course discussed at length, but he said that he was from Rolling Meadows high school in Illinois and that they were largely non-competitive.

he didn't really have much else to say about his show choir. i got the impression that it wasn't the most popular of activities within his high school, and that the program had been larger in the past.

Another competition that had Questionable results last year... actually it just sucked. i don't think it was crooked... but it was nonsensical... HAH i love that word...

Can anyone tell me if the Daytime will be scored on the same scoresheet as the night?
because last year, The judges judged the daytime in their own field... IE: a Vocal judge, would only judge Vocals... a choreo, only Choreo... I hate to reference FC again but... When the judges Scored their independant field of Expertise... Franklin Central was far ahead... enough ahead to Sweep captions from Teays valley. In the night time show... the judges ALL scored Band, Chore, and Vocals... at this point... Franklin Central and Teays Tied for GC... The 1st tie breaker was night time vocals, that was a dead tie. The 2nd was night time choreo, and teays won by .5.... I just don't know if i like a system where the results can fluctuate so much from day to night. If Teays had Really stepped it up at night then i'd understand, but i was much more impressed with them in the day round.

Sorry for that long winded explanation of why i asked the question

It's probably the same where in the finals they all judge everything. It's been that way for like the last 4 years so i doubt they've changed it. I agree though, i don't think i like the system they have... but what can ya do?

i was informed that there will be a womens division at this competition. Unlike years past where it is an open class format..highland singers wont have to compete against stars

Ehh, I'm hosting the competition! =] Music&More (the comp.) is always running right on time. Last years was kind of a mess because of some choirs, but hopefully it'll go off hitch-free this year.
