Wow, I'm so glad I haven't missed this yet; I was afraid I had. Can somebody give me the date(s) and times? I'm definitely gonna take advantage of living so close to you folk, but I need to know what time. Ticket prices are good, too. Thanks!

To clarify Xavier's show choir position..... Xavier opened up at 1998 where they had a all womens choir. It would not have worked for fab five. until last year, they still had the All Womens choir. Last year was the first yea for mixed be cause enough guys tried out for once. They still only had 11 guys last year but it was an improvement. Last year was also the first year for the freshman group..(which i was in) anda that only had 5 guys. But the fresh group was still strong with little guys. This yea the xavier fresh guys are still at five. but the varsity is at 18 ro so. I transfered from xavier after my freshman year to go to kennedy so that is why i know all this stuff. Just letting ya know. So this year for xavier proves that they are moving up the rankings. Jefferson was the first finals made in the history of xavier highschool. They were excited. My guess is that the director will inquire about the fab five in the near future. thank you

I saw Xavier at C.R. Jefferson's competition, and they are very good this year. Now that their program has a few years under its belt, the talent has started to surface, and they have all good performers. I really enjoyed their show and vocals and admire their positive energy.
They DEFINITELY deserve to be on the same stage with the other five Cedar Rapids choirs. I dont know if politics and the name problem ("5") will prevent them from participating in this event, but I hope they get involved with it some day.

I know for a fact that Xavier has had some sort of show choir for at least four years. At least the first year, a middle school director took it because the high school director didn't want it or couldn't do it or something like that.

FAB 5 on Monday!! YAY! And YAY for missing classes to set the whole thing up! YAY! (thats why I love being on crew) I think once again, Wash's techies are in charge or "guarding" the doors...yuck. I hate doing that. I'm glad we get volunteered every year, and we dont even get the choice.

Whoever said that Xavier is not good, i would like to mention the fact that at the Jefferson Invitational, they placed first in the auditorium, thereby qualifying them for finals.  The only thing about them that sucks, was having to set up their riser configuration.  I headed the stage crew in the aud...man that was a fun one....*shakes head no*

          16  8  8    8 16

In response to that, Xavier had no real competition @ Jefferson this year... the attendance at jefferson GREATLY dropped with the absense of happiness, protege, onalaska, prairie... etc etc... there was just no competition in the auditorium... so thats why. The reason Xavier is not as good is theyve only had the program there for 3 years i think (maybe only two). I think they were SOO much better this year than last year and i hope they keep improving, but @ this point in time i dont think they have enough experience nor abilities to perform @ the FAB 5... what would we call it when they joined???? the Super 6... that just sounds dumb...

but i cant wait for FAB 5!!!!!!!!!! who am i gonna stand by in the finale????? hmmmm such a choice... i hafta stand by some1 loud sooooooooooo stephanie? ali? heather? ne1 else?????

ali what do u want in exchange for ure happiness jacket????? cuz like i have sooooooo much stuff that u could have... my mo stuff prolly isnt a good idea tho since none of it fits me and therefore would be WAYYYYYY too big for you... i can get my vivace sweatshirt back from kelsey... do u want it???? idk pm me and tell me....

I LOVE FAB 5!!!!!!!! ive gone every year!!!!.... thats where i first fell in love with momentum, and ultimately decided to go to wash.... ah the memories!!! now that im actually performing im like REALLY sad!!!! this will be my first fab 5 not watching, tho i HAFTA see prairie since i havent seen them (and really no1 has since not a lotta ppl expected them to do well @ gr, and lets remember that i thought they would make finals there... yah lets remember that!)... but not watching fab 5 and my mom got a video!!! NOT A DVD!!!! what the heck! what use is a video?!?!?!?!?!?!?! SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!

Woot woot!!! I'm excited for Fab Five...we haven't really had a show choir practice since Mo-Show since we're so busy with the musical so it'll be nice to perform the show again w/out the pressure of everyone in the audience looking for flaws in your show....can't wait!

its actually the third year in a row for doing it so yeah i wish that we could have done something like "Flying home" that would have been soooooooooooooooo awesome but it would have taken months of practice to get that really prepared.  but if anyone saw happiness do it two years ago then you know that it is veerrrrryyyy inspirational and mooving.  I am sure that we could have found a soloist that was as good as charlie vogl or better, or just not made it a solo.  It would have been awesome though.

gumbers, our freshman year they did "one world" ;)

Our director Mr. Anderson will be conducting the final piece and was going to get a different song but the arrangement did not get done in time. Another of the problems he faced was that Cedar Rapids schools were on spring break last week and we are on break this week. It was just easier to do something that a lot of people knew already, and could learn fast if they didn't.

Xavier was not in existence when the Fab 5 began. They are also a private school, and the Fab 5 is the show choirs from the 5 public schools in Cedar Rapids. Sorry to say Xavier was too little too late.

Have a blast with Fab 5 ya'll. Two Monday nights? Let me know if that's better or worse. I'm kind of jealous about the renevations. Hopefully you'll have better dressing rooms and more space. We used to get practically a broom closet.

What's the finale piece this year??

When FAB 5 first started...either Xavier wasnt around or they didnt have a show choir...I can't remember. But it must not be that big of a deal otherwise Xavier would have complained a long time ago.
