I know a lot of people like different stuff but BOTH manchester shows are the total package. They have strong vocals and choreo to match.

as for the TOS vs. Faces - I will see Faces show shortly but I have seen TOS and they are AWESOME. I mean they won Showstoppers last year. I love their sound it has such a good blend.

Congrats to all and cant wait to see Crete in Nashville.

Hey guys!
Just wanted to extend a quick thank you to all choirs at Twinsburg and the folks who ran the event on Saturday. It was extremely well organized and professional, but they didn't forget to let us have fun either! All competitive choirs showed so much respect that it was truly humbling to attend an event that seemed so "friendly". We were not at all expecting to be able to compete with you all like we did, and to be in the company of choirs like Fairfield, Medina, Capital VIP's, Piqua and Crete Monee is an experience my choir is and will remain appreciative of! You all were amazing, thanks for the great memories!

Did anyone get to see the V.I.P.'s? I really want to know what everyone thought of our show and how we did. Everyone so far has just said that they missed us, but heard we were good.

No matter where we place, I'm rarely frightened at awards ceremonies. I was shaking at T-burg.

I doubt I was the only one.

Grood jorb to all groups.

I don't believe Faces were saying they were better, but I wouldn't necessarily say that TOS were amazing either. The people I talked to said that the evening show from both girls groups were way different than prelims, and Faces really did a great job.

Some thoughts on shows:

Manchester- Classy show with vocals to match. Seeing "Lullaby Of Broadway" brought back memories of old Grosse Pointe South, MI from '98. Looks like you have that knack of style that they did. Obviously, typical Andy Haines stuff that oozes professionalism. Tap needs some work still, but overall- show was quite clean. You and Crete had the best choreo for sure.

Fairfield- You are always consistent in all the years that I have seen you. I'm not the biggest fan of total theme shows, which gets a little predictable, but you sell it well. Awesome special effects. I thought vocally you were way up there but choreography was definitely lacking. I think there could be much more there in the difficulty department.

Medina- Didn't see all of your show, but I enjoyed what I heard especially. Excellent vocals- one of the best all day. However, I think you sing so well because your choreography is so subdued. Tons of "armography." I wonder how judges evaluate groups like you because vocally there is no way you can be marked down when there are no major athletic risks you take in movement, which is cool, its just a matter of preference.

VIP's- Didn't get a chance to see you, but I hear you really kicked it!

Piqua- Excellent overall package. Costumes were beautiful, as was the set. I liked the Mcee D's number, but seemed a little out of place with the rest of your set. Seemed like we went from four-star restaurant show to cheap fast food in the middle of the show. Loved the guys number and closer was good- (liked it better than other groups I heard this year doing stuff from "Movin' Out.") Diction was a little too intense for me. Your one soloist needs to cut her neverending solo at the end of the ballad, especially when she's not singing in key!!

Crete- Seemed like you guys put more effort into Finals, and I thought you would have moved up at least one place. Choreography was up there with Manchester's. Vocally, I thought there were some blend issues, but an overall tight package. I think your band hurt you a little. Overall, one of the more entertaining "out of the box" shows I heard all night. Very original.

Girls groups- If the evening was scored, I think results would have been different. TOS, you have good tone and balance- something that helped you to win during the day. Unfortunately, I thought that the rest of the show was uninteresting to watch. A bunch of phrasing issues, as well as projection. Faces had some intonation problems, not sure why. I think they kicked it up in the evening and did what they needed to do. They have a diverse and varied show, which I liked, and choreography to match. Either way, congrats to both groups, you both showed a lot of character!

Honorable mention goes to Marysville, who I thought did an amazing job as well. It's just nice to see groups who are willing to take risks. Anyone can pull off the standard and do it well. Originality in this business is always going to make me feel more entertained than seeing songs that are so re-choreographed or shows that always have to follow a formula. Not to say I'm against old-school, it just gets SO repetitive at these competitions and it seems I'm always waiting for that breath of fresh air!

Loved the William Hung stuff T-burg! Excellent competition, well-run, and well planned!

and just to comment of somethings.... manchester... awesome vocals but dont tell me how you won because your tap is really bad.... ive had 7 years of tap and most of the time... it is suppose to be "TOGETHER" also your band was having trouble at keeping tempo with your singing and dancing during your closer.... i thought a couple of groups should have beat you guys.... i thought everyone there had awesome vocals so i think it really came down to how clean your show was.....fairfield.... awesome job stepping it up i didnt get to see capital VIP's because of the seating problems but i watched it on TV and u guys were great... piqua.... way better show in the evening... i thought you guys were one of the top 3 and crete... i thought u guys were great... i loved your dancing i thought you had best choreo for sure and finally medina....i really just think u all need to dance more.... who isnt going to have good vocals when they hardly move while on stage

so really i think it should have came down to choreo because all of the groups there had awesome vocals

i would have put finals like this

GC Fairfield
1st RU Capital
2nd RU Piqua
3rd RU Crete Monee
4th RU Manchester
5th RU Medina

only my opinion so don't go crazy kids

TWINSBURG WAS AMAZING! Most people have never heard of the Capital V.I.P.'s but they have now. We are so excited to be 3rd runner up. It was awsome to compete against such great choirs. Manchester was great! I love their tap! And the "She Bangs" comepetion was halarious!

one judge might have a group in 3rd another would have the same group in 10th! i.e. a judge having Solon ranked in finals

i dont know how you ment this, but i take it offesively. acctually, two judges had us in positions to make finals, the third did not, and one of the two wrote "see you in the pm" on his paper. i dont think you ment it to offend, but think about what your saying next time, especially if you didnt see our scoresheets.
on a happier note, congrats to eveyone. i didnt stay but from what i hear, everyone put on really great shows.
